The Bioscope is an independent cinema located in Maboneng. The Bioscope opened up the adjoining restaurant and craft beer bar Chalkboard whom offers all amenities that can be taken into the cinema. The Bioscope is an independent cinema in the heart of Maboneng, offering documentaries about South Africa, under-the radar local movies, and cheesy kung-fu themed evenings. It is adjacent to the PopArt theatre, which is a small theatre space constantly hosting interesting local productions.
