Wow. Our family's favorite active weekend getaway "vacation" spot. The trails and rock climbing options here are without a doubt unique to Kansas. Take a short nature hike on the Green Thumb trail or pack up for a rugged camp hike west of the reservoir. The water's edge near the Comfort Cove campground has super unique shale rock formations. Great for teaching kids to skip rocks! Hike Table Mound trail for an active day trip activity with your family or partner. Worth the 45 minute drive from Chanute.
