The centre of Hoole is only a 10 minute walk away. The high street is located on Faulkner Street and Charles Street. There are many independent shops, bars and places to eat.

Sticky Walnut - A real treat! Modern European restaurant, with a cosy atmosphere. The sirloin of beef is a must. Booking essential.
The Little Yellow Pig - Coffee Shop and Café. Takeaway coffee or sit in. Great for Sunday brunch but get there early as there is always a queue. No booking.
Short + Stout - Just a short walk to Ermine Road, Short + Stout specialise in coffee, loose leaf tea and homemade cakes. Sit in or takeaway.

Alexandra Park is situated on Canadian Avenue. There are tennis courts, a bowling green and children’s play area. This is a lovely peaceful garden to relax in under the trees.

Old Harkers Arms - 1, Russell Street CH3 5AL. Right on the canal and only a 15 minute walk, The Harkers has inside and outdoor seating. A friendly and vibrant pub serving local beers. A really good menu and excellent Sunday lunch.
La Fattoria - 25, Lower Bridge Street CH11 RS. Family run pizzeria/restaurant. Friendly staff and great atmosphere. Booking essential.
Da Noi - 63, Bridge Street CH1 1NG. A Michelin recommended family owned restaurant serving high quality dishes and wine from the North West of Italy. A unique dining experience in cosy surroundings. Booking is essential.
Shrub - 1 to 3, Eastgate Street CH1 1LQ. A modern café/dining in Chester’s Rows. Shrub is a plant based eatery serving coffee, light lunches and dinner either inside or on the terrace. No booking required.
Porta Wine & Tapas Bar - 140, Northgate Street CH1 2HT. Relaxed and informal. Food inspired by the tapas bars of Barcelona and Madrid. No bookings taken so advisable to go early.
Bean & Cole – 41, Frodsham Street CH1 3JJ. Independent coffee shop. A great place for breakfast, brunch or lunch. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options available. No booking required.
