Zen im Multnomah County: malerische Wanderung & vier Wasserfälle
Multnomah Falls and other waterfalls and vistas of the Columbia Gorge are astonishing icons of geology, the sort that have inspired mythology and lore of warriors, gods and passions in every world culture. Meet the tallest waterfall in the state, and a few of the shorter but even more stunning ones, too; falls which could only be the daughters and sons of legend. In this half-day experience, we will explore wonders with some short hikes (totaling less than 2.5 miles/4 km) and visits to overlooks and vistas that will have you gasping in awe. While Multnomah Falls and its iconic Benson Bridge are together the most-visited tourist attraction in the Portland area, they are only a part of our experience. We will meet at our shop in inner SE Portland, where we'll ride in our comfortable Sprinter and Transit vans to the nearby gorge. Depending on weather conditions, we could visit a few small hidden waterfalls or spectacular plunge-style falls whose columnar basalt has us learning words for "amazing" in other languages. We'll also tell you stories, geology, botany and oft-repeated tales of pioneers and road-builders, but also the old stories we've learned, of gods and wild spirits and about the oldest North American civilization, forever altered by “manifest destiny." Please note we book directly as well as through AirBNB, and your group may be up to 10.

POP QUIZ: Are you here to absorb authentic Portland culture? BONUS CREDIT: Are you trying to live like a local while you are? Because Portland is a MILLENNIAL PLAYGROUND best understood when explored like someone from here. How do we do that? Here are the locals' favorite pastimes: picking up cannabis from the neighborhood dispensary, grabbing drinks at a cozy cafe, eating plant-based food done right, and sipping crafts at an eclectic bar! So for starters, we'll sniff around a CANNABIS DISPENSARY to kick things off on a high note. Second, we'll sip tea inside a LIVING ROOM CAFE that's been converted from a Pixar-esque residence. Third, we'll grab meals from a VEGAN EATERY featuring meat and cheese alternatives that are as tasty as they are innovative. And lastly, we'll drink beers at a SEVEN STORY BAR that used to be a hidden back room of a live theater. To explore the city like a true Portlander, I’ll be your guide to show you where you’d go and how you’d do it. Along the way, I'll enlighten you to the community's culture and provide custom recommendations on how to live like the locals! "I would've never found these places on my own." - Every Person, from Everywhere Don't see a time frame that works? Message me for special arrangements! LET'S GET WEIRD.

There will be Chinese style tea art demonstrations and on certain holidays Guzheng ( Chinese musical instrument) performances. Guests will choose between black tea, oolong tea, yellow tea, green tea, dark tea and scented teas from China at different tea tasting times. I have been in touch with tea since I was 10 years of age and it has always been a part of my life. I am a landscape architect and an enthusiastic tea artist. After I moved to America, my partner and husband Joseph singlehandedly built the tea house for me, according to my design. Everything including the slab table was made by Joseph over a period of two years. Now I would like to share with others this tea house full of love energy and my love of Chinese tea, the etiquette of drinking tea and interesting stories of China. NOTE FROM HUSBAND JOE: I personally built this tea house for my Chinese wife, just for her to share tea culture with others.

Erkunde Portland mit dem Fahrrad
The essential introduction to Portland. We’ll hop on well-traveled bike lanes stopping to admire the views of downtown, the river and the city’s many bridges. Then we ride along the waterfront past the brick and cast iron fronted buildings of Old Town built in the 19th and early 20th century. Next our tour will head into Chinatown where the streets once teemed with immigrants from all over the world. From there we’ll roll through the Pearl District where turn-of-the-century warehouses have been turned into art galleries, shops, restaurants and condos. We’ll pass Henry Weinhard’s 140 year old brewery before heading downtown. The tour cruises past a number of our favorite food carts before entering the South Park Blocks – separated from the North blocks by a century of legal battles. We’ll pedal through Oregon’s largest university then turn downhill to the waterfront and the Willamette River, lifeblood of the city and state. Time permitting, we'll ride into some east side neighborhoods with food carts, gorgeous houses, rose gardens and vibrant shopping districts before crossing the river again. Ebike upgrade, only $20! PLease note in your booking and we'll get you set up. *In order to offer livable wages to our guides, if only 1 person books, a supplement of $20 will be charged upon arrival.

Underground-Donut-Tour durch Portland
On this tour, you'll join me as we explore the city and food culture through the medium of donuts. You'll learn history of Portland, each donut location, how they fit into the larger food scene, as well as try some amazing donuts. We start near the PSU campus where we begin at Sesame Donuts and try some of their amazing sesame donuts as well as many others. We then take a nice walk through central Portland over to Fills Donuts to sample some of their daily specials. Their menu changes often. From there, it's off to NOLA Doughnuts where we'll sample beignets and some of the best chocolate donuts you've ever had. We'll finish the tour at Voodoo Doughnuts, where you can even skip the line (sometimes a 30-60 minute ordeal). We hope you can join us! Other things to note Currently, many of these shops do not have gluten free or vegan options, so options are very limited.
Beginner's glass blowing lessons in North Portland
Ever been interested in trying your hand at blowing glass? Join me in my private borosilicate glass studio for one-on-one instruction on how to make your first piece of glass art! I’m a professional borosilicate glass blower with over 10 years of experience and am offering private classes in my home studio in North Portland. Students will be taught basic glass blowing safety, skills, and will have the opportunity to create 2-3 pieces of glass art in a two-hour beginner’s lesson. Depending on experience, participants will have the chance to create a variety of items including marbles (typical for beginners), small sculptures, or a small glass ornament. If you make a fun marble I'm happy to turn it into a wine bottle stopper for you! Students get to keep any glass they create, and gain knowledge and hands-on experience in a very unique field. *Glass made during lesson will require kilning for durability, which takes a minimum of 4 hours. Most students choose to pick up the glass they made the next day (or at their earliest convenience). Interested in a class for two people? I'm happy to accommodate an extra person but only have one torch set up at a time, so both individuals will take turns blowing glass. In order to make sure you both get adequate time on the torch, I recommend extending class time to about 3 hours. Feel free to message me with any questions.
Luftbahn- und Dachtour
We'll meet at a convenient location downtown and then head to Portland's Aerial Tram to capture some stunning photos of the city's skyline. After a short excursion in the clouds, we'll visit a rooftop in the Pearl District. There you can enjoy views of the unique architectural styles present in Portland, from a gold level sustainable rooftop, tastefully restored from a 1895 warehouse. The 3rd and final viewpoint takes place at a hotel in Chinatown, where you can order tea, coffee, beer or mimosa on the a captivating roof a 1881 former sailors boarding house. My weekly work schedule allows for flexibility and I am open to moving things around, so if you have a different time in mind, please don't hesitate to ask. *Depending on the size group we make take public transportation, Lyft or private car. Other things to note Because the tour lasts three hours, I advise bringing a snack or a bottle of water. The price is at $35/per person to keep this experience affordable, but I do accept tips. :)

Backe dein eigenes Brot
We'll start out at my house for espresso & homemade whole-grain toast that uses locally-grown and milled flour. Next we'll get to mixing and baking your own loaves. You will leave with a vigorous sourdough starter, plus a loaf of whole-grain, naturally-leavened bread. Not only that, but you'll have the knowledge to go home and start making your own bread regularly! While we wait for your bread to rise, we'll visit some of Portland's best bakeries. This is a lesson and tour in one. Check out @1000bitesofbread on Instagram. Other things to note Arrange transportation to and from my house, but I will provide complimentary transportation to the bakeries we will visit. We'll have breakfast together and there will be plenty of snacks.
Erkunde Kultur und Kunst in Portland mit dem Fahrrad
Beautiful bikes, beautiful rides, and all our neighborhood secrets. On our tours we'll smell roses, taste treats, ride across bridges, and along rivers; it's the best way to experience the diversity of culture, art, poetry, nature, parks and neighborhoods in Portland. Our approach is to spend more time riding, but lots of time stopping at gardens, art installations, sculptures and poetry beaches. We start in the inner Eastside at our shop at 833 SE Main St #121, where we will fit you for a bike and helmet, ready for an 8-10 mile ride. We head out into Ladd’s Addition, to our fave rose garden, into an art-heavy industrial district, across the sexy Tilikum Bridge, and onto Portland's waterfront. We’ll ride along the water before we head over another bridge back to our shop! Portland is not just a city of seamless bicycle infrastructure and friendly relations between cyclists and motorists, but also a city of poets. Literally, figuratively, our bike ride is a poem; a series of poems; to our city. We'll read poetry written on murals, in sidewalks, and carved in rocks. There is, too, the whirling poetry of wheels on pavement, the sweet suspension of effort that is cycling on the streets and pathways in this place we love. Portland mornings are cool -- bring layers! It rains often in Portland; rain jackets are wise. Minimal bike experience is ok; none, is not.
Veganer kulinarischer Rundgang durch Portland
Portland is often rated the #1 vegan-friendly destination in the country, so what better way to experience the culture of our city than with an epic vegan food tour. We’ll show off our herbivore heaven by meandering through a southeast neighborhood, making 4-5 all-vegan stops along the way. We want to showcase the vegan community here, bring people together, and create an awareness for plant-based lifestyles. A little bit of Portland history and the people behind the food will be sprinkled in throughout the tour. Let’s share good conversation and good food with each other on this vibrant vegan tour. Follow @veggietrailspdx for a taste of what we’ve been trying lately. Things to note: √ We will be walking up to 2 miles, depending on stops. Dress comfortably, bring water! √ This tour stops/starts in two different locations. Please arrange for transportation. When possible, I am happy to walk back to the starting destination with you. √ This tour will take place rain or shine ('tis Portland, afterall.) Umbrellas will be provided for all guests.
Ein Tag im Leben eines Glasbläsers

Then, we will enter the studio where the magic happens! After going over safety and proper equipment use you will get a brief glass blowing demonstration by myself. Next you get to play! I will instruct and guide you to help create a piece of glass art that you can return home with.* ** Studio is equipped with a ventilation exhaust fan capable of exhausting the air at approx 1,650 cfm (cubic feet per minute) to aid in Covid-19 mindfulness. *Item available next day or can be shipped at no cost to you. Explore Hidden Gems on the Oregon Coast
I will pick you up where you're staying as long as it's in the Portland area! The drive to the coast is about 110 minutes on a winding forest road where we'll have the opportunity to get to know each other quite a bit. Our first stop will be a local spot that is often overlooked by visitors. This protected cove features a majestic trail through an old growth forest, a waterfall pouring into the sea, and panoramic views of the ocean. Here I'll tell stories, talk about local wildlife, and answer questions. After about 1.5 hours we'll move north to the next location which offers more panoramic ocean views and caves/tide pools to explore at low tide. Next I'll bring guests to the legendary Cannon Beach. A classic spot where guests will get to view haystack rock and have the option to grab lunch and drinks while I share my favorite spots in the small beach town. When It feels right to move on, our final destination will be a less traveled State Park which offers a stunning drive through another old growth forest, secluded beach access, and a 1.5 mile round trip hike to a vista overlooking Tillamook lighthouse. After that, we'll make the trek back to Portland. Adults will be tired and kids will be exhausted after experiencing this very unique and rugged trip to the Oregon Coast. P.S. I'll have my film camera to take photos throughout the day :)
