Good access to Shimosuwa Station! We renovated an 80-year-old Japanese house into a traditional and clean space. (New open in 2023!) You can spend a comfortable time by renting the entire building. Recommended for families, couples and small groups. This area is rich in history and nature. Suwa Taisha Shrine, hot springs, Nakasendo. Hiking in the mountains and strolling around Lake Suwa are also recommended ways to spend your time. It's also great to explore the Suwa area on a rental bicycle.

HAKU is a Japanese Style Villa. You can enjoy your private time as in your home. “HAKU“ is one of the readings of the character “百” which means “hundred”. Medieval Haiku poet, Basho Matsuo likened eternal passage of time to "百代の過客", a permanent traveller. In his time, a hundred years was expressed as eternal. HAKU was originally built as a farmer’s shed about a hundred years ago. It was recently relocated and renovated for another hundred years. HAKU will welcome you as traveling companions.

Kusa no Niwa | 100-Year Machiya Lodge in Takayama

Kusa no Niwa is a traditional Japanese-style house with a courtyard and corridors that was built more than 130 years ago. The entire house with a size of 100 square meters will be lent privately to a single group with a maximum capacity of 6 persons. You will find a fusuma, a sliding door with a paper panel, painted by a famous Japanese Painter, which can be also found in the Taue’s House, an Important Cultural Property, located in Nyukawa Town.

山あいの歴史ある町でひと時、暮らすように滞在してほしいから、基本的に2泊からのご予約を承っております。 中山道の宿場町である奈良井宿の隣町に位置し、江戸時代から木曽漆器の産地として栄えた歴史ある町並み。 重要伝統的建造物群保存地区に選定され、現在も漆器店が並んでいるこの町に、1931年に建てられました。 お食事なしの一日一組限定、一棟貸し切りにてご利用頂いています。 平沢のもつ魅力は何気ない日々の美しさ、豊かさだと思います。 読書、散歩、地酒（日本酒・ワイン）を頂く、ゆっくり寝て起きるなど古きよきこの町で暮らすように滞在して頂けたら嬉しいです。 日常の様子はSNSでも発信をしているので覗いてみてください。 山の谷間の古いお家で網戸はありませんので、暖かい季節になれば自然の生き物が入ってくることもあります。 93年の建物は細部までぴかぴかに磨き上げれている訳ではありません。 できるだけ清潔にと思いお迎えの準備をさせて頂いておりますが、大きなお心でお越し頂けると幸いです。
