We are located between two of the Big Islands most iconic areas; Hawaii Volcano National Park and Hilo's beaches, approximately both a 20-minute drive from the studio. Our clean, bright and well appointed cottage is 5 minutes from Volcanoes National Park in the artist community of Volcano Village. You will have the entire cottage to yourselves, surrounded by the lush rainforest and native bird song. Sit in the mornings on your private lanai with a cup of Kau coffee while enjoying pastries, fruit and yogurt provided by the host. Our neighborhood is located on the edge of a forest preserve home to hawks, owls, and several bird species endemic to the Big Island.

Volcano, Hawaii is unique to any spot on the Islands. When you crest the 4000’ summit of Kīlauea Volcano you enter my tropical neighborhood. Our piece of paradise is across the street from Volcanoes National Park with the park entrance less than a mile away. When Kīlauea volcano is erupting, (it is currently active as of January 2023) you can see the red glow of the plume from the b&b. Your private cottage is situated on my large property surrounded by lush tropical plants and my tea garden.

Brand new kitchen and an adorable lanai for enjoying the panoramic view of sunset or morning coffee. Our teak swing above the cottage offers a horizon view of the ocean.

If you don't find the sound of coqui frogs at night obtrusive to your sleep, then this space would be suitable. While you will have privacy, my dad stays in the main house in case you need assistance in person. We are located at about 100 foot of elevation which provides for relatively cooler nights.

Though the rental is far from the slow, red cinder road that takes you there, town and stores are accessible via new highway with memorable views through the 2018 Kilauea lava flow.
