The park's loop road with access to Sand Beach, Ocean Drive, Champlain mountain and a huge network of trails are just down the street while restaurants, the village green, shops, shore path and an active waterfront are a 15 min. walk away.

Our location is central to the island, situated just outside the village of Somesville; 15 minutes to Bar Harbor, 10 minutes to Southwest Harbor by car. Hiking and swimming opportunities are just 5 minutes away by car. The Arthaus is not suitable for pets, despite our love for them.

Peace and quiet is what you’ll find, along with a gorgeous view. It’s a great place for swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding, grilling, fishing, and laying on the hammock. Drop Anchor is a 2 bedroom spacious residential home on the “Quietside” of Mount Desert island. You will be 5 minutes from Acadia National park. Bass Harbor headlight, Ship Harbor, Wonderland, and Seawall picnic area. Bar harbor is a 20 minute drive. Nearby is Archies lobster pound, Hansen’s seaside takeout (both walkable) and by car Thurstons lobster pound. And Seafood ketch. There are many other options in the neighboring town of Southwest Harbor.
