Also known as the Mayport Ferry, it’s about 20 minutes south of Amelia on Ft. George Island across from the entrance to Kingsley Plantation and the Ribault Club. An automobile ferry that crosses over the St. John’s river to Mayport, it’s a short, fun trip! Mayport has 2 restaurants on the riverfront, Singletons and Safe Harbor offering seafood, specifically shrimp, where you can sit outside overlooking the shrimp boats and commercial boating traffic along the St. Johns River. Safe Harbor also has a seafood market and the restaurant is wildly popular, so plan accordingly!

Take the ferry ($6/car) across the St John's River for a fun day trip. Explore Hugenot Memorial Park and beaches (great tidal pools for smaller kids), Kingsley Plantation (historic sightseeing), Little Talbot and Big Talbot State Parks (driftwood beaches and horseback riding), Fernandina Beach (great shopping and food), and Fort Clinch State Park (fishing, hiking, sightseeing).

The St. Johns River Ferry is a car and passenger ferry that connects the north and south ends of Florida State Road A1A in Duval County, linking Mayport Village and Fort George Island via a pleasant sail across the St. Johns River. The 0.9 mile voyage crosses the St. Johns River 2.5 miles inland of the river’s mouth and departs every half hour. It is just minutes away from the Salty Dolphin.

If you want to ride a Ferry this one is close and 15 minutes long. A short cut to the Zoo and Amelia Island. Runs on the half hour. Sometimes there are dolphins and if you time it, a sunset.
