Fuseta is a small fisherman town. This is where you will take a boat to the wonderful Fuseta Island - the best beach in Europe (uncrowded in August!). It also has a large supermarket and restaurants.

Big city with lots of shops. Not very touristic (or pretty). If you need to buy something this is the place to go. Also, some good restaurants by the sea (Marina).

If you want to drive up to the beach (as opposed to taking a boat) you should go to Praia da Manta Rota. Lots of parking space, very large beach, some good restaurants. A bit crowded in the Summer.

This is where Portugal ends and Spain begins. If you've made it this far, why not go to Seville, Spain? I can tell you it's worth it and it's just 2-3h away... Some good restaurants and beaches here.

This is a great beach and sooo close to our house. You can drive up to "Pedras del Rei" and take the small train (or walk). Kids love the train. Lots of restaurants and infrastructure at the beach.

Ilha de Tavira - Very good beach. To get there, take the boat either in Tavira center or in Quatro Aguas. The boat is a hit with kids. Plenty of restaurants and bars in the island.

Food Scene

Pedras del Rei is a beautiful, laid-back, touristic complex that is open to everyone (not just guests). A few restaurants, bars and cafés. Perfect place to go after dinner. Very kid-friendly.
