Parks & Nature
Beautiful hillside park with big trees, a playground, a water playground, skatepark, and basketball courts. We love to walk to Rocky's & Nicky's Pizzeria, get a slice to go, and sit on a bench at the top of the park looking out over the water.

A large park with an amazing view that is not very well known. You can walk out on the pier, run around in the grass, or play soccer and baseball. It's a good place to ride your bike to as well.

Another great park with an amazing view. We use to live on the park and love it very much! There are basketball courts, volleyball courts, swings, playground, large grassy areas for picnics, and a huge public swimming pool in the summer months.

This is our favorite local beach. It's becoming more popular and can get crowded on holidays and in the summer, however, it is such a large beach that even on crowded days, it's still great. In the summer months, there are food and shopping vendors set up. It's easy to drive to with a huge parking lot, or there is a bus. You can also take the Rockaway ferry and bus from there.

The People's Beach at Jacob Riis Park

It's becoming more popular and can get crowded on holidays and in the summer, however, it is such a large beach that even on crowded days, it's still great. In the summer months, there are food and shopping vendors set up. It's easy to drive to with a huge parking lot, or there is a bus. You can also take the Rockaway ferry and bus from there.
