If you feel like eating great, inexpensive Chinese food, you need to visit the Chinatown. I recommend the Lan Zhou Noodle Shop, my favorite Chinese restaurant in Montreal.
This deli restaurant is a must then you visit Montreal. It's the famous Montreal smoked meat. Be sure to ask for the medium fat smoked meat otherwise you'll get the lean meat, which is a bit less flavourful but still great. and don't forget to ask for a pickle.

This deli restaurant is a must then you visit Montreal. It's the famous Montreal smoked meat. Be sure to ask for the medium fat smoked meat otherwise you'll get the lean meat, which is a bit less flavourful but still great. and don't forget to ask for a pickle.
This is the original famous bagel shop. There are two more locations but but this one is open 24/7.

Very safe, diverse demographic and bilingual. There are many fast food restaurants within 5 minutes walking distance from the apartment and few very nice restaurants. It's a vibrant neighborhood with lots of university students due to the proximity to the University of Montreal. there are 3 major hospitals within 5 min walk in 3 different directions. There are two metro stations within 5 minutes walking distance to two different lines. This part of town is literally on the Mont Royal mountain, 10 minutes walk away from the Saint Joseph's Oratory

Metro and bus are the best way to explore the city

By Metro (Montreal's Subway system) and bus you'll be sure to take your time and really see the life in Montreal. public transport is very safe. Also you'll save time and money on parking, especially if you're going downtown and the old port of Montreal. Also there are different tarifs you can get for public transport, like a ticket for the whole weekend, the whole evening or the whole week.
