Godsbanen is an urban area with different kinds of craftsman workshops. It also has cozy small boutiques offering wine, organic greens, coffee and the like. There is a great atmosphere with open minded people, who are skating, playing basketball, or really just doing their thing.

This is not a specific recommendation for Café Ziggy, rather a call out to the area referred to as "Åen" (the small river in Aarhus). This is a popular area if you want to enjoy the sun on a café. Many people gather here to enjoy the city life of Aarhus.

Madscenen

Lovely atmosphere and great food inspired by the French kitchen. Highly recommend Tatar (scraped raw beef) and Beuf Bearnaise. It's not the cheapest place though.

Verkehrsmittel

Catch a bus, go with Letbanen or jump on a scooter

AARHUS HOVEDBANEGAARD (CENTRAL TRAIN STATION) The train station is only a 12-15 minutes walk from the apartment. Here you catch all trains, including Aarhus Letbane. BUSSES ON PARK ALLÉ Almost just across the Central Train Station, you find the street called Park Allé. Most busses pass through this street, so it’s easy to catch a ride from here. SCOOTERS You will find scooters around the city. Just download the app Voí and you are ready to go (NB: The law requires you to wear a helmet, but you will see many taking the risk of riding without one)

Stroll through Den Gamle By outside opening hours

Outside of standard opening hours, you can visit Den Gamle By (The Old Town) and walk through the old streets. There are no actors, food stalls, or activities going on, but you can take a nice free stroll through the area. You can enter via the Botanical garden just next to Den Gamle By.

Include a pair of comfortable slippers

To make full use of the apartment and the terrace area, bring a pair of slippers. The concrete floors in the apartment also feels quite hard, when you are not used to it, so it's nice to have a pair of slippers to bounce off the floor a little bit. I prefer that you don't wear your normal shoes on the floors, but slippers are fine.

Aarhus Street Food is a nice place to eat and have a drink

Aarhus Street Food is a cool area with plenty of food stalls. You can have everything from the very classic Danish food (tarteletter), to Greek, Italien, Vietnamese, Indian and classic burgers. Lots to choose from. You can also have both soft drinks, cocktails, wine and a great variation of beers.
