Town of Bigfork Info

Theatre, shopping, events, places to visit, sightseeing
Beautiful town of Bigfork surrounds Bigfork Harbor. Enjoy the small town atmosphere and quaint shops along Electric Ave. Bigfork sits at the north shore of Flathead Lake between the Swan River and Flathead River, hence the "big fork." The town is approximately 10 miles north of my property on Highway 35. There is lake access at Wayfarer's Park and river access at Rainbow Bridge, Landmark Ln, Patterson Creek, and Sportmsan Bridge Boat Ramp off HWY 82. The town of Bigfork is full of a variety of restaurants, eateries, galleries, shops and a playhouse. At various times of the year, visitors will enjoy street festivals, such as the popular Arts Festival in early August, the Wild Mile Celebration in May, and Christmas Parade and festivities in December, and every week in the summer there's a farmer's market and a concert in the park series. The July 4 parade is definitely something to see. Halloween activities downtown include trick or treating throughout the town shops. Absolutely amazing fireworks displays from multiple locations can be seen from the Sitting Duck Restaurant, The Raven and from the marina in Woods Bay.

The trail is 2.1 miles north of the house. It's a short hike down to the shoreline of Flathead Lake. Look for the sign on the lake side of the highway. Photo was taken in winter months when lake was lower.
