Mammoth Winter Fun

Mammoth is a year-round destination, but no time shines like the winter season for world-class skiing and epic winter views of the Eastern Sierras.
Likely the reason you're here once there is snow on the ground, so it needs to introduction! Mammoth Mountain is one of the largest ski resorts in the country. At 11,053 feet, Mammoth boasts the highest summit of any California resort, making for deeper, better snow, and beautiful vistas. With 3,500 skiable acres, an average of 400 inches of snowfall and 300 days of sunshine per year, and a season that typically stretches Nov–June, Mammoth delivers big smiles on the slopes from first timers to Olympians.

While great choice for families, don't be fooled into thinking this spot is just for little kids. Whether you're 5 years old or an X-Games competitor, this place is a great time.

For epic views, ride the Main Lodge Gondola to the McCoy station and the summit. This is different from the Village Gondola which will jus transport you to Canyon Lodge.

Hot Springs

No better way to unwind after a day on the slopes than spending an afternoon soaking in one of the dozens of hot springs sprinkled throughout the area. These are a few of our favorites that are easy to access, but folks with 4x4's can find more secluded spots off the beaten path.
A nice option that's a bit easier to access. On the smaller side but still a local favorite for small groups.

Hiking and Sightseeing

Enjoy incredible hikes, views, and fishing in the area during the spring, summer and fall!
A beautiful alpine lake with great open water swimming, when it's warm enough! The Convict Lake Loop Trail is a nice little hour long one, but you'll see there are plenty of options for hikes nearby on AllTrails — we suggest downloading the app!

The Lower Rock Creek Trail down towards Bishop is also nice hike. It follows an old wagon road, which is pretty cool!

June Lake

June Lake is stunning and worth at least a half-day trip (unless you're skiing there, then a full day!) It's a great destination in summer and winter with excellent fishing and great slopes for skiing.
June Lake is stunning and worth at least a half-day trip (unless you're skiing there, then a full day!) The main lodge at the ski resort there offers one of the most beautiful views you can get of the Eastern Sierras. June Lake is a locals getaway, and is a favorite destination for skiers who want to avoid the crowds at Mammoth. Skiing June is a blast and a bit of a local secret, so don't spread the word too much about the slopes there :)
