Tipps für Reisende

Verkehrsmittel

Taxis are super affordable and reliable

Official Cabs are painted green and white (the colours of the nation's flag), however some are monochrome and are still safe to use provided they can show a "union card/permit" to operate as a taxi. Uber and Bolt are efficient alternatives.
Bräuche und Kultur

Tour religious buildings as religion is part of the culture

You can visit the National Ecumenical Centre (the central church building for all Christians in Nigeria) The National mosque can also be toured, it serves as the central prayer ground for Muslims.
Nicht verpassen

Window Shopping or Actual Shopping :)

Jabi Lake Mall is Abuja's most tranquil shopping destination with local and international outlets; check the Jabi lake while visiting too! Ceddi plaza is another more quaint mall with a wide variety of commodities to cater to customers. There are local markets in every district - majorly for food stuff, such as Wuse Market, Utako Market, Garki Market, Karu Market etc.
Nützliche Sätze

Calming tension

Nigerians are passionate, so whether it is intentional or unbeknownst to a local who raises his/her voice, one easy way to diffuse tension in any setting is to say "NO VEX" meaning "don't get upset"

light clothes - stay hydrated

Abuja is very humid and reaches temperatures of up to 38 Degrees Celsius, so make sure to drink a lot of water and also wear light clothing when moving around.
