Founders Park houses a number of historical buildings. A short heritage railway line is operated by the Nelson Railway Society. Several shops operate in the park, selling bakery and other artisan foods, as well as locally-made arts & crafts.

Nelson's main beach. Plenty of space, quite shallow, perfect for kids (not a lot of shade though). Playground, various activities and cafe nearby.
