Our local ski resort is world renowned and offers a small resort feel with a big mountain feel. With mother nature blanketing the resort in over 12 meters (40 feet) of snow annually, there's no snowmaking machines to be found - but you will find 623 metres (2044 feet) of steeps, deeps, chutes, bowls, and some of the best-gladed skiing on the planet at your feet. Whether you're new to the slopes or a seasoned pro, Whitewater has an abundance of stellar terrain options for every skier and rider.

Journey along the shoreline to Ainsworth Hot Springs, Kaslo and North Kootenay Lake. Kaslo, a quaint village on the shores of Kootenay Lake in the Selkirk Mountains, overlooks the soaring peaks in the Purcell Mountain Range. The downtown features various boutique eateries, shops, and artisans. Beautiful parks with pristine beaches surround the downtown. Heritage buildings have been lovingly restored, including the S.S. Moyie,the world's oldest intact sternwheeler and the Langham Cultural Centre. You can walk pretty much everywhere in Kaslo, or take a bike for a quicker journey and to head up the hills, along the river, or down the lake.

Backroads Brewery is right in the very center of town. The beer is brewed in the back and flows directly to the taproom up front. This is a great spot to play a game, chat and test out a large list of unique brews.
