Hiking

I love that we have a state park with hiking trails right in our city! There’s a small lake with a picnic area, multiple shelters, and trails ranging from .4 to 3.6 miles. Check out their website for info/trails! www.southcarolinaparks.com/paris-mountain

Sightseeing

Truly one of my favorite places. Lake Jocassee boasts beautiful views of clear blue water and mountains, and Eclectic Sun has paddle board, kayak, canoe, pontoon, and floats you can rent. They will also provide you with a dry bag for your phone and keys, they have a snack stand that has everything from food to sunscreen to towels, and they are very helpful. The park also has a 1.5 mile trail and picnic area. I like to go through Downtown Travelers Rest on the way there or back to try a fun restaurant or brewery. If you're out that way, Downtown Greer is a great place to stop by for lunch or dinner. They have recently revitalized the downtown area, adding strung lights and European style street scapes, and there are several great restaurants and places to check out. City Oark sits adjacent to the downtown area and is easy to walk over to for a farmer's market (seasonal), or a walk around the pong/gazebo/amphitheater.

Food scene

Walkable! Just 500 yards from the house, White Duck has delicious tacos starting at $3.95. Great lawn space if you want to bring a frisbee or blanket, lots of indoor and outdoor seating. This is also the only White Duck that has a bar, so order up your favorite drink or try one of their specials. If you have kids, walk a few more yards after tacos to the Runway Park where you can play on their beautiful playground equipment and watch planes take off and land at the Downtown Airport.

3 miles away. Pizza + homemade icecream. It’s pricier pizza, but a local favorite with several locations because of how delicious it is (DO NOT pass on the breadsticks!!), and the fun ambiance. Each location has a wall that opens up to outdoors, hence the name, Sidewall. 500ft away is Cancer Survivor Park. Park there and take a gorgeous half mile walk to Falls Park and Main St.
