Winter in Montriond

Best of Montriond

Although Montriond is separated from the main body of Morzine it is as close to the lifts, shops and bars as some parts of Morzine and has better access to the Ardent bubble than most of Morzine. On top of that, Montriond is home to one of the best bars in the area, it has a great local shop and the lake is a must-see.
This is the only bar/pub in Montriond but it's excellent. From the moment they open for breakfast to the moment, they close there's always a great atmosphere and for that reason, it's become a hit with everyone that lives in Montriond, Morzine and the surrounding areas. They also put on live music every Tuesday which is well worth a visit.

No matter what time of year you're visiting, Lac de Montriond is worth a visit. In the winter it's a winter wonderland. Covered in ice and surrounded by snow it's a peaceful place for a walk with great views. You can even go ice diving if you fancy it. In the summer, the lake is buzzing with activity. Swimming, kayaking, slacklining, BBQ's and the sun-soaked balconies of the restaurants around the edge of the lake are a great place to unwind.

The famous Bar Robinson, home of Mützig beer. Bar Robinson is one of the oldest bars in the whole of Morzine. It is located at the bottom of Rue du Bourg, the commercial centre of town. It has been run by the same family for the entire time it has been open, for three generations. Bar Robinson, also known locally as Robbos, is amongst the most popular bars in town. Due to its early closing time it has gained a reputation as an après bar. In winter it is full of skiers and snowboarders and in summer mountain bikers fill up the tables outside enjoying the early evening sun with their drinks. It is popular with both locals and tourists alike.

Verkehrsmittel

Local busses are the best way to get around.

The local bus, covering Morzine, Nyon, Prodains, Montriond and Ardent is the best way to get around town. It's free to use and with a bus stop directly outside the apartment, it couldn't be easier. Find the latest schedule here: https://www.morzinesourcemagazine.com/the-morzine-winter-20-bus-timetable/ The busses stop soon after the lifts shut so if you're out in town later, you'll either need to book a taxi back to the apartment, alternatively the walk from the centre of Morzine takes about 30 minutes.

Comfortable, warm shoes with good grip

If you're coming in the winter, although the roads will be cleared the sidewalks, driveways and paths are likely to be covered in snow and ice. Take care.
