Stroller along historic Oak lined St Charles Avenue where historic mansions tower both sides of the avenue, as the historic green-line streetcar continues to rumble down the center neutral ground, (the median of the divided boulevard as the rest of the world may call it.) This mixed residential entertainment district historic street has cafes, fine dining, diners, casual restaurants, chic bistros, coffee shops, bakeries, bars, lounges, music venues, mixed with clinics, churches, synagogues, hotels, clubs, drug stores, schools, parks, hospitals, and two universities- Tulane and Loyal, and runs from the French Quarter, the oldest section of New Orleans all the way up river to the “Riverbend” at the end of St Charles Ave. at River Road, where the Mississippi River actually bends back towards the north before winding again back west northwest. At the Riverbend, multiple historic businesses are still in operation and have must try famous food. New Orleans Original Daiquiri is there, Camilla Grill - offering 24/7 diner breakfast made with a smile and a song by some of the best and longest continuous Camilla Grill employed cooks than anywhere else. There breakfast burritos are superb as are the pancakes and bacon!

Neighborhoods

Eclectic area of funky shops, boutiques, cafe's and bars, easily accessible by bike or walking. Plenty of free parking also. Uber is easy to use anywhere for pretty cheap as you are literally snack dab in middle of the Greater Baton Rouge Area. Diverse population and area of family friendly quiet friendly neighborhoods. There is also public bus stop right out front on N. Acadian Thruway that can take you most places in Baton Rouge. Google "CATS" (capital area transit services). For LSU games, there use to be /is parking downtown and a paid- ticketed-shuttle that runs to the stadium. (Check before you plan!)
