Bushwick's famous pizza place! Many people say this place put Bushwick on the map. (although many also say it's technically in East Williamsburg, depending who you ask).
Take the L train to the Morgan Station from the house and this is a great place to start when exploring all that Bushwick has to offer. http://nymag.com/listings/restaurant/robertas/
It does get crowded, so if you have to wait you can get drink at the bar. Or you can put your name on the list and get a drink at Syndicated which is very close by.

Also there is a wonderful bakery attached to it around the corner called Saraghina Bakery. It's a great place to pick up pastries and baked goods for your breakfast the next day. It's about a 10 minute Uber ride there.

Also there is a wonderful bakery attached to it around the corner called Saraghina Bakery. It's a great place to pick up pastries and baked goods for your breakfast the next day. It's about a 10 minute Uber ride there.

If you're going to a park in Manhattah, Central Park is a must.
However, Madison Square Park is a convenient and pretty park close to the Flatiron neighborhood and walkable to the shops on 5th Avenue and to Chelsea. The original Shake Shack is there for lunch or you can go across the street to Eataly to explore the indoor food hall, café, or the beer garden on the roof. Also there are always very interesting art installations in rotation throughout the year in the park.

This station is a 5 minute walk from the house. You can catch the J train which is about a 20 minutes ride into Downtown Manhattan. Please note: The entrance to this station is actually on the corner of Linden and Broadway, one block down from Gates.

Essentials
Key Food is the closest large supermarket. It has everything you will need and the staff is very friendly. It's also close to the Halsey St. subway station, J/M/Z train. This is very convenient for picking up groceries on the way home, if you're coming back from Manhattan.

This is our go-to corner deli, which is a smaller grocery shop. They sell essential items like drinks, beer, and toiletries and snacks. They also have a small kitchen behind the counter so you can order sandwiches and hot food. There are many other delis like this one but we think the people here are the friendliest and most helpful.

Sightseeing
The High Line is a wonderful elevated park in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan. It runs along the West Side Highway and you have a wonderful view of the Hudson River on one side and on the other a birds eye view of the city streetscape.
