A culinary and artistic cafe in the former engineer's residence of the Zuidergasfabriek in Amsterdam East. The building has several authentic rooms in the old style and is located on the river Amstel. The terras is great for nice weather and this historic mansion is an excellent spot to get out of the busy city center for a couple of hours.

This canal house restaurant only gives you the choice between steak or lobster, but what a great choice it is. The quality is high and the restaurant overlooks a picturesque canal. Making a reservation in advance is a good idea.

You can go for a tour in the brewery or just enjoy their beers and home-made Dutch cheese in the pub or large terras right under the biggest wooden windmill of the Netherlands. Note that the pub closes it's doors at 8 pm. So it's perfect for a pre-diner beer.
