The Ranney Gorge Suspension Bridge is open daily year round. Located within Ferris Provincial Park, is a great destination for an easy hike and picturesque views. This great, family-oriented, natural adventure hovers 30′ above the Ranney Gorge just south of the falls. As you make your way across the 300-foot-long bridge, you will feel it sway slightly below your feet.

It's a gorgeous fall to see but unfortunately due to the careless behaviour of some visitors, the road to the falls is gated and closed to stop vehicles passing. You may park as shown in the picture. But someone says police may issue tickets. So visit at your own risk.

One of only two hydraulic lift locks on the Waterway, Lock 21 is the highest hydraulic lift lock in the world. Opened on July 9, 1904, it leaves a visible and lasting impact on Peterborough's landscape. Quiet overnight mooring is located at the upper level. There are plenty of services within a 10-minute walk to the East City area of Peterborough.

The Lang-Hastings Trail is a greenway trail and its uses are restricted to five core activities: hiking/jogging, cycling, horseback riding, cross-country skiing and snowmobiling. This public trail is open year round and is co-managed with the Rice Lake Snow Drifters Snowmobile Club. Vision for the Trail As part of the Trans Canada Trail, the longest trail build in Canada, the ‘Lang-Hastings Trail’ will be sought out by many, and admired by local communities as a unique and healthy lifestyle choice and natural heritage wonder to take pride in.
