I recommend the Everglades cruise, or a dolphin cruise, if you want to relax and observe wildlife; plus Sea Acres (join a tour to get the most out of it), and the koala hospital. Then there is Shelly Beach and the amazing carvings by a man who, after exploring Australia, decided to stay at its most beautiful part forever. He camped on the beach, collected rubbish, befriended locals and made many amazing carvings along the coast. Locals petitioned Council to let him stay and called him the mayor of Shelly Beach! If into history, there is lots of interest to explore. Ask at VICentre for details of tours. Timbertown is an interesting day out for all ages. For cultural experiences, visit the glasshouse entertainment centre in the centre of town.

Food & Coffee

Sea Acres Cafe, just across the road is where you can eat in the treetops of our most southern part of Australia’s tropical rainforest.
Great place for coffee or a meal, among the tree-tops. Just across the road!

This, of course, is Shelly Beach’s Sea Acres treetop cafe’. There are lots of other good places to eat, too, including a great value smorgasbord at the nearest pokies club to you. Their dining room overlooks tennis courts and the coast. An ideal spot for lunch in town is the Art Deco pub overlooking where the beach meets the river.
