This is the best kept secret of A'dam just 5 min walk from the house! Nice affordable food or just for coffee/drinks on the terrace (that offers a great view on a beautiful church from de 1930's).

This is one of my favorite coffeeplaces in West. Not a budget place, but is serves definately good coffee in a retro admosphere. There are more Koffie Salons in A'dam.

Take a canal boat tour! This company near the Rokin is friendly and the university neighborhood behind it is worthwile a visit too. Café "De Jaren" is very nice with a terrace on the waterside.
