We had a great stay. The house feels secluded yet is very convenient to the beach and other amenities. We would definitely stay there again if available.
He checked on me to make sure everything was going well which was nice. I liked the proximity to the beach and grocery.
Monsieur Laine est disponible et avenant. Toutefois, l'endroit manque d'attentions.
Roger's camp was exactly what we were looking for. It's the perfect spot to get out of the city for a calm and quiet weekend of fishing. Would definitely go again!
Roger was very helpful. The camp was very cozy and private. The walk to the beach was near by. Grand isle beach is worth coming back to and I would defiantly come back and stay at Rogers camp.
The house was as expected, although the patio had a bunch of roofing tiles on it so we couldn't use it, and the upstairs was quite musty. A nice place though.
Grand Isle is a charming, quiet town that makes for a perfect weekend getaway to really relax. Roger Laine was a thoughtful host and his house had everything we needed to complement our low-key visit. He gave me lots of information about the island as well, where to shop, where to find this and that. The house is really pretty, all wood and tile. We thought it would be the perfect setup for a few couples or a family. The bathroom is especially nice and we slept well both nights. The kitchen is set up so that you can actually cook a nice meal, which we did after buying shrimp straight off the dock. If you love seafood, you will definitely enjoy this island. We also walked on the wind-swept beach several times although it was too cold to swim in mid-April. Next time, we want to bring bicycles. We will definitely visit again!
Roger's camp looks a little tired and weathered on the outside, but it is spacious and very comfortable on the inside. The tile floors and extensive use of wood adds a lot charm. Grand Isle is not Pensacola Beach, so the camps are camps, not vacation resorts. The mattresses on the beds are warn, and I left Roger a list of minor things that should be improved. But for Grand Isle, Roger's place is better than most. It was clean, very well stocked, and completely adequate. I'd stay there again.
Rebecca's place is wonderful! Brought a group of friends down and we really enjoyed the weekend. There's everything you need to cook, two refrigerators, a great living room and dining area (that our weekend working friends mostly used to work and study). The pool is awesome and a great refreshing temperature! It made the trip! So pretty! Bring a little bug spray for your ankles in the evening and at the beach... The path to the beach is a little over grown, but we were able to walk right next door and get down that beach path pretty easily. You're not far from Joe Bob's - a good store just down the way. Perfect for a big group of friends and families! Rebecca is super easy to communicate with and arrival and departure were seamless! Super easy!
It was a perfect camp for our large group. The pool was well taken care of considering we went swimming in November. Nice large deck for hanging out. It was on par for most fishing camps I have been to in Louisiana. Nothing fancy but everything you need.
Great place on the eastern (marina side) of the island. It's quite large and the pool area is great. Bonus: poker table with chips and cards provided!
