Or The Black Horse at Naunton is also a lovely village pub with great pub food and a cosy atmosphere.
The Notgrove Estate is a 1500 acre family run working farm owned by Harry and Diana Acland. Set high up in the Cotswold Hills it has 400 acres of grassland in deep valleys and 100 acres of woodland and rolling arable fields. The farm has a mix of sheep, cattle and arable and has diversified with two horse livery yards and a holiday cottage business. In the last few years Harry and Diana have put in new foot and bridle paths and entered into a wildlife conservation scheme planting 200 acres of special plots planted with wild bird mixes, corn bunting mixes, pollen and nectar mixes for bees and beetle banks that promotes the preservation of our natural wild birds. The scenery changes with each season as does the pattern of farming; we have an abundance of lambs and calves in spring, harvest in summer, colourful autumn leaves and dramatic winters, often with snow.

The open plan downstairs contains the following rooms: Living room: Full of character, this room contains exposed beams and a stone fireplace with a wood burning stove. There is a two seater sofa, two armchairs, and a Smart TV with a Blu-ray/DVD/CD player; Kitchen/dining room: Accessed directly from the living room, this well presented room contains a double electric oven, four ring ceramic hob, dishwasher, fridge, small freezer, microwave, toaster and kettle. There is also a stylish glass dining table, which comfortably seats four. Stairs lead up from the living room to the small first floor landing, off which are the following rooms: Bedroom 1: A lovely room with attractive rural views, which contains a double bed; Family bathroom: Contains a bath with handheld shower attachment, heated towel rail, wash basin and toilet. There is also a washing machine in the bathroom; A door on the first floor landing leads to a second, steep stairway to the second floor bedroom: Bedroom 2: A lovely eaves room, which can be set up as either two single beds or a king size bed. Directly outside the front of the cottage is a lovely, peaceful patio area, which contains a table, four chairs and a charcoal barbecue. There is also a small garden, together with a gravelled parking area, with space for one average sized car.
The Cotswolds are characterised by attractive small towns and villages, built of the underlying Cotswold stone (a yellow oolitic limestone). In the Middle Ages the wool trade made the Cotswolds prosperous and some of this money was put into the building of churches, leaving the area with a number of large handsome Cotswold stone "wool churches". The area remains affluent, which has encouraged the establishment of many high quality pubs, restaurants and antique shops.

Betten super bequem. Die Küche war zweckmäßig eingerichtet. Keine Beschwerden!

A stylish open plan barn conversion, with gorgeous uninterrupted Cotswold countryside views. It's in a private setting, perfect for couples or solo visitors. Situated on the edge of a beautiful village, it's an ideal base for enjoying all the Cotswolds has to offer, including great walking and cycling, lovely country pubs and famous cultural/sporting events in nearby Cheltenham (@10 miles). Alternatively you can just relax, enjoy the scenery and do nothing at all.
We are perched on top of a hill on the edge of a beautiful and typical Cotswold village in an area of outstanding natural beauty. At the top of our driveway, tucked away from the main house, is our barn. If you are looking for something a little bit different but with a modern feel, gorgeous views of the surrounding countryside and privacy, then this will be for you. Our pool house was converted from a small stone barn and, as the name suggests, there is an outdoor pool and one side of the building looks out on to this (though it's only open June-August). The other side looks out on to uninterrupted views of magnificent rolling hills, complete with sheep, pheasants and birds of prey. Outdoor furniture is available. Inside it's a little non-conventional, and is open plan, with a mezzanine bedroom area that has a huge gable-end window and an 11-rung wall-fixed ladder to get you up to it. Up there is a low-level double bed and a cargo net that pulls across the mezzanine opening for extra safety, if needed. NB We are very sorry but this won't be suitable for anyone who cannot ably and confidently use a ladder to go both up and down. There is a separate toilet with a small hand basin and a walk-in overhead shower (please note no bath) with a connecting changing area where you can also store/hang things out of the way. The main room is open plan and has a kitchen area with an island and seating for 6. It's well equipped and includes gas hob, electric oven, fridge with small freezer box, dishwasher, microwave, toaster and kettle (no washing machine/dryer). There is a huge, very comfy corner sofa for relaxing and there's a TV with an Amazon Firestick with a small selection of channel apps including Netflix and Amazon Prime. It has under floor heating throughout. Please note we do not have curtains on the massive sliding doors on each side, however it is private where the barn is situated with no buildings overlooking it. There are removable blackouts that can be used on the gable-end window on the mezzanine/bedroom level, for those who prefer less light when sleeping. Outside there's a lovely deck and beyond the pool is a private garden area leading on to a paddock. Wifi works very well, mobile not very well at all, though you can hook-up to the wifi and use wifi calling, if you have it and that works perfectly.
Our area is very beautiful, very green, very quiet and very rural. This makes for a relaxing and peaceful stay. It's also super-dark at night as we have no street lights. If you are looking for night-life you'd have to go to Cheltenham (15 mins drive, cab possible with a bit of pre-planning). Please note you will have to drive to get to a pub or shop.

Welcome to Miller's Cottage, brought to you exclusively by Character Cottages, local specialists in stylish, Cotswold holiday rentals. Miller’s Cottage is one of a row of traditional Cotswold stone cottages in the heart of Winchcombe, an ancient Saxon town situated on the famous Cotswold Way. Boasting a thriving local community, the town offers excellent amenities, with independent shops, several pubs and even a Michelin starred restaurant. With an abundance of local walking and cycling trails, plus places of historical interest, including Sudeley Castle, Winchcombe has plenty to keep visitors occupied. The town is also within easy reach of the many charming market towns and villages of the Cotswolds, guests can ride the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Steam Railway directly to Cheltenham, and the beautiful cities of Bath and Oxford are easily accessible for day trips. Important Customer Notice: - Special Events: Christmas, New Year and the Cheltenham Horse Racing Festival are Special Events, with bookings typically limited to weeks only from a specific start day If your dates don’t appear to fit, then please click Contact Host below to find out what options may exist for you!
From the pavement, three stone steps lead up to the front door of Miller’s Cottage, which opens into the entrance hall. This in turn leads into the following ground floor rooms: Living room: This is a stunning room, with exposed Cotswold stone walls, a flagstone floor, oak beams, and a large inglenook fireplace with a wood burning stove. There is a three-seater sofa and arm chair, plus a Freeview TV and DVD player, with well stocked book shelves offering a selection of games and DVDs; Dining area: Two steps lead up from the living room to the dining area, which is partially separated from the living room by the TV, which can be rotated to allow it to be viewed from either room. This lovely space has the same character features as the living room, including a second fireplace with a wood burning stove. There is an oak dining table that comfortably seats four people, and a stylish sideboard provides storage space and houses a DAB radio with Bluetooth speaker and iPod docking station; Kitchen: Behind the dining room, the well presented kitchen contains an electric oven, four-ring gas hob, slimline dishwasher, combined washing machine and tumble dryer, microwave, kettle and toaster. There is also a Nespresso coffee machine (pods are not included); Boot room: Accessed via the kitchen, this useful space leads directly into the garden and is ideal for storing coats and boots. It contains an American-style fridge freezer and a wooden bench. Stairs lead up from the entrance hall to the first floor landing, off which are the following rooms: Bedroom 1: A beautiful room, tastefully decorated in a contemporary style, which contains a king size bed, dressing table and vanity mirror, plus a fitted wardrobe; Bedroom 2: Overlooking the garden, this lovely bedroom contains either two single beds or a super king size bed. Smart storage facilities are provided by a custom made hanging space and chest of drawers fitted into an alcove; Family bathroom: Contains a bath, a separate walk-in shower with overhead waterfall shower and handheld shower attachment, toilet and wash basin. The garden can be accessed either from the entrance hall, and along the side of the cottage, or from the boot room, which opens directly onto a pretty gravel area. Steps lead up through the garden, with mature shrubs on either side, to a seating area with a table and four chairs, which enjoy lovely views of the surrounding Cotswold hills. There is a summer house at the end of the garden, which is available to store bicycles. The cottage has an allocated parking space a short walk away and further on street parking is available in the town.
Set above the River Isbourne, Winchcombe is arguably the hidden jewel in the Cotswolds crown. The town became prosperous from its Abbey (one of the largest Benedictine monasteries in England), its wool trade and as a producer of tobacco. Although the Abbey has gone there is still much to see of historic Winchcombe and the wealth of the town is reflected in many of the buildings, as well as in the surrounding countryside. No visit to Winchcombe would be complete without seeing four of the most prestigious historical sites in the area. Sudeley Castle (home of Queen Katherine Parr up to her death in 1548), Hailes Abbey (a Cistercian House founded in 1246 and owned by English Heritage), Stanway House (a Jacobean manor house with a world-famous fountain) and Belas Knap (a Neolithic long barrow dating from approximately 3800 BC) all offer a fascinating insight into the life of our ancestors. Known as the walking capital of the Cotswolds, Winchcombe sits at the intersection of the Cotswold Way, the Gloucestershire Way, the Wardens Way, the Windrush Way and the new Winchcombe Way. Alternatively, the GWR Steam Railway provides a fantastic fun day out for the family, running from Toddington through Winchcombe to Cheltenham Racecourse. Winchcombe has a mouthwatering selection of top quality restaurants, a wine bar, pubs, tea shops and a contemporary delicatessen/coffee shop. So whether you want a quick snack or a leisurely meal you'll be spoilt for choice. With a vibrant Music & Arts Festival in May/June, a Country Show in August and a Christmas Festival in December, Winchcombe also has a busy cultural calendar. Food & Drink Winchcombe is fortunate to be blessed with a variety of places to eat and drink, with the following being just a selection of the options available: Restaurant 5 North Street (www.5northstreetrestaurant.co.uk): A small family run Michelin starred restaurant. The cooking at North Street brings together the elements of traditional British cooking with the more sophisticated ingredients and techniques of classic French cuisine; Wesley House (www.wesleyhouse.co.uk): Set in a 15th century Merchant's House, Wesley House's restaurant has been awarded an AA two star rosette and has developed a reputation for excellent food, elegant surroundings and exemplary service. The vibrant Wine Bar & Grill offers a lively atmosphere, with an extensive cellar and delicious dishes in a relaxed setting; Wine and Sausage at The White Hart Inn (http://wineandsausage.whitehartwinchcombe.co.uk): The White Hart Inn is a charming 16th Century inn, with the Wine & Sausage Restaurant at its heart. Open daily for breakfast, morning coffee & cakes, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner and bar snacks.

Vielen Dank!

Peaceful garden room on ground floor in lovely family house 15 minutes walk from town centre. Own external door, small conservatory, new bathroom, parking, guest wifi, continental breakfast, comfortable bed, and beautiful garden. Excellent base for exploring the Cotswolds, or just enjoying the festivals and shopping in Cheltenham.
This is a private guest suite in our house. We keep some of our books there. Our garden is outstanding, and we open it in aid of a local charity every summer. We have over 45 rose plants in the garden, and in the summer, guests can sit in their conservatory and look over the garden. There is a patio at the front of the house where you can sit and have breakfast if the weather is warm. The house itself is very warm and well-insulated.
The Pittville area of Cheltenham originates from Regency times, although not all the houses are from that time. We have the beautiful Pittville Park a hundred yards away with a boating lake, and the Grade 1 listed Pittville Pump Room. The racecourse is close by. It is a residential area primarily, but the town centre is 15 minutes walk away with some of the best shopping outside London.

  • Wunderbarer 3-tägiger Aufenthalt in Cheltenham.

Your holiday home away from home and the perfect base to explore the area or just enjoy being part of the Cotswolds :) Full of character and charm, Honey Cottage is the perfect Cotswold retreat in the heart of the historical town of Winchcombe. Full of character such as exposed beams and stone walls throughout. There is also a lovely large, enclosed, private garden with views to the picturesque church. Both the kitchen and the double bedroom have views over the garden.
Honey Cottage is located on Gloucester Street, which is close to the local shops, restaurants and pubs and one of the oldest streets in Winchcombe. Winchcombe is an historic Cotswold town full of charm, tradition and even a castle! Situated on the Winchcombe Way there is lots of walking for those who love the outdoors. There is a tiled boot room with a boot sink by the back door – the perfect place for washing off muddy wellies. The cottage is full of period charm and features such as original beams, Cotswold stone walls (which have been lovingly restored by hand) and mullion windows to name but a few! The layout of the cottage is as follows: * Ground Floor * On the ground floor there is the sitting/dining room as you enter the property, which has a dining table to comfortably seat 4 guests – with a cute inbuilt windowseat which is a lovely place to watch the world go by. The kitchen was newly fitted in November 2017 and has built in washing machine and dishwasher, plus an electric cooker and hob, microwave, kettle, toaster and fridge. We also provide tea towels, oven gloves and utensils that you should need to cook for yourself. The kitchen leads into the boot room which has the backdoor into the garden, and through the boot room leads to the downstairs bathroom which is very modern and cleanly fitted with a bath and overhead shower. To the rear of the property is the large, enclosed garden, which is great for kids and dogs to explore, as well as a lovely place to enjoy the sunshine. *1st Floor * Upstairs, the traditional features continue with lots of exposed beams. The master bedroom has a very comfy Super King bed, plus a dressing table and traditional mullion window and fireplace. (Airbnb only has option for King not Super King, but the bed in the master bedroom is a Super King!) The second bedroom has a lovely view over the garden and has a double bed (was previously twin beds until November 2019)
Winchcombe is a delightful area, full of history and charm with wonderful buildings and surrounded by lovely rolling hills. Honey Cottage is a great base to explore the local walks and area, or a cosy bolthole to enjoy a quiet weekend in the Cotswolds
