  • The three of us had a very comfortable stay in the West Wing of Laura & John's beautiful house. On arrival we had a beautiful piece of cake and tea ready to be made which we enjoyed outside on the lawn with the afternoon sun shining. We also had access to their croquet set. It was such a relaxing and peaceful stay and their recommendations for places to eat were endless :)

  • Laura and John made us really welcome at Fronfraith Hall despite our late arrival and early departure. The accommodation was everything that was described and more. Would love to go back and spend longer at Fronfraith Hall in order to make the most of the wonderful accommodation and the great local area.

  • Beautiful spot and very comfortable for a few days of relaxation!

    Sarah2017-06-01T00:00:00Z
  • it has some great views and the open living room/kitchen space is a great setting/atmosphere. We didn't realise that the TV had more than three channels till our last night (haha) so remember that! Lovely secluded place in wales with lots of lovely walks and interesting places to explore

    Holly2017-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Had a magical couple of days at Fronfraith Hall. The hosts were extremely nice and welcoming, making sure we had everything we needed. Beautiful, serine surroundings and comfortable, spacious house. Would definitely recommend to anyone and would love to come back one day!

    Guy2015-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Fronfraith Hall really surpassed all expectations. The accommodation was stylish, comfortable and spotlessly clean. Our host, Laura, thoughtfully provided the many touches that make a stay enjoyable for both the adult and junior members of a family. The location was beautiful and we found so much to keep us amused and entertained in the local vicinity. At the end our our stay, my daughters asked when we could return. You can't get a better recommendation than that! Thanks for everything, Laura and John

    Clair2013-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • Family of four originally booked in for 2 nights in August for my mother's birthday, but ended up staying for three! Laura had provided a cake upon our arrival which was a lovely touch. Wonderful hosts who are available should you need anything. Extensive information and guidance is provided in a book on the table upon arrival so you shouldn't be left with any questions or short of places to visit. The grounds are very large and very peaceful with just sheep and a couple of ponds/lakes for company. The wing itself contains virtually all your kitchen needs (although no freezer), hundreds of books and a few board games too! Parents loved it that much that we ended up staying for an extra night as I said. Lots of nice places to visit and we even managed to factor in a drink with Laura, John and family in the main hall. Virtually certain we will be coming back and would definitely recommend to anyone looking.

    Elliott2014-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Myself, my wife and our 3 month old daughter spent 5 days at Fronfraith Hall and we loved every minute. The location is fantastic; in the middle of the beautiful Welsh countryside and an ideal base to explore Mid-Wales and the Shropshire Hills. The Wing is a large, self contained, beautifully furnished apartment and has everything we needed for us and our 3 month old daughter. A big concern for us was whether we would disturb anyone with a crying baby but we always felt self-contained enough that this wasn't an issue. Laura and the rest of the family were fantastic hosts and did everything they could to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Laura provided a cot, bedding, baby bath, sterilising equipment and even toys for our daughter which was a huge help and massively appreciated. Laura was on call whenever we had a question or to check whether everything was alright and even kept us stocked with fresh cherries from the walled garden! I'd have no doubt in recommending Laura and Fronfraith Hall to couples, young families, groups of friends... in fact anyone. We will be doing our best to get back

Ty Twt is a beautifully presented 1 bedroom black & white property in the picturesque village of Berriew. Berriew is one of the jewels in the Mid-Wales crown, with its black-and- white cottages, majestic church and the river Rhiw flowing through its heart.
  • Second time staying at the cottage and it was just as good as the first time. Really appreciated the fact that Paul had taken my previous comments on board as well, the additional kitchen appliances made the stay much simpler for myself and my young daughter.

    Danny2016-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely, quiet cottage with beautiful scenery.

    Colette2017-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Had a lovely stay at Paul's cottage, he was great about check in and out times and was very accommodating. The cottage was really nice and as described, we had everything we needed for a great weekend away. Thank you for having us!

    Zoe2017-05-01T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful stay at Paul's place. Clean, cosy and in a great location. The neighbours were lovely and very helpful too!

  • Great little cottage in a nice quiet village, great base for exploring Wales....just what we needed

    Vincent2017-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I spent a pleasant week at the Pool Road Cottage. It was very comfortable and cosy and the bedroom on the upper floor had a lovely view out onto the adjacent churchyard. There are two charming pubs close by and a small grocery store to supply most of the things we needed. A friendly neighbourhood cat dropped in to say hello every day and the next door neighbour was a nice old lady. Our visit to Powis Castle was the highlight of the week, and Shrewsbury was such a beautiful town that we went there twice.

    Jonathan2016-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • This is a super cute cottage right in the village. The bed is comfy and it is a cosy stay for a couple. A few things weren't working when we stayed so I hope the host will get them fixed and sorted out. A good log burner is essential for a cosy cottage stay so check it has been sorted out and that the shower has been fixed!!

    Ellie2017-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • This little cottage felt so homely, we loved the log burner and the decoration and how welcoming the place felt. The views of hills, sheep and Berriew Church out back from the windows was lovely to see; chatting with the friendly neighbour and her fat cat; being within meters of pubs, shops, the river and church was great. After staying overnight we went to Gregynog Hall for the day, which is a very convenient 15 minute drive away (and we had a lovely walk around the grounds there). But finally, the bed was wonderfully comfy. Would absolutely recommend this place. We would definitely stay again.

  • What a beautiful home to stay in! We had a wonderful time exploring mid-Wales and Berriew has everything you need for a weekend get away! The house is finished to an amazing standard and is so clean and comfortable. Hosts are kind, accomodating and even baked us a cake. We will certainly return in the Spring!

Sitting comfortably, in the wild meadow, above The Upper Rectory Restaurant, is our romantic shepherd's hut, well equipped for your arrival - with water, tea, coffee & home made cake/biscuits. Check in is between 3pm - 5pm. Check out is 11:00am.
Our listing is unique as it offers glamorous camping in beautiful mid wales countryside
The village is just as historic with a stunning church; two pubs; a general store; a butcher’s shop; a lovely shop selling cards, gifts and secondhand books; and a busy tearoom. The River Rhiw tumbles picturesquely through the village and you can also access the Montgomeryshire Canal which has easy walkways in both directions as far as Welshpool in one direction and Newtown to the west. All this is just minutes from where we live.
  • We loved every minute of our stay. We would definitely come again . Great location great hosts and an utterly unique experience. Thank you Kerry you are amazing.

  • The hut is a very nice unique experience. The athomsphere is cosy and welcoming. Would recommend it highly to any couples.

    Marco2014-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • The Shepherds' Hut was delightful. So comfy and cosy. We slept well and felt really at home.

    Gareth2015-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • A great little place, with so much character. It was a pleasure to stay there (and to eat the flapjacks/brownies). I lay on the grass on the warm Sunday afternoon drifting in and out of sleep, whilst listening to the vibes of the radio from the Hut, while my wife & daughter had a nap on the cosy, slung bed. We had a dander around the village in the evening. The staff in both pubs were helpful and friendly. The only downfall was that it rained in the night, so we couldn't get the firepit going outside. We wish we could've stayed longer, and it was good to meet a Paul before we left in the morning. Thank you.

    Andrew2017-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • We came here to stay after a few days camping in Wales. Kerry and Steve were great hosts and we were made very welcome. The hut is really cosy - particularly when the wood burner is lit! We were very comfortable there, and the village is only a 5 minute walk away so very convenient location. Thanks very much for having us.

    Mim2014-04-24T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great weekend despite the winter rain- it was so warm and cozy inside the shepherds hut! Great views... Even from the loo! Definitely worth a visit. Thank you

    Matthew2014-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • Such a relaxing spot! beautiful accommodation, warm and cozy, absolutely perfect! We made use of the fire pit in the evening with a wheelbarrow of logs provided, great views! Kerry was a great host, nothing was any trouble. We will return :-)

    Donna2016-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • Despite our failure to get in touch on the day (no phone signal) our friendly host was there to give us a quick tour and show us the essentials. The hut was everything we expected and the constant rain made little noise on the well-insulated roof and there was certainly no feeling of damp, in fact, the weather made us feel cosy and, although we really didn't need it, the heater soon spread warmth throughout. There is a radio, tea and coffee facilities and even some choc cakes (a nice touch). We were unlucky with the weather as the siting of the hut is in a beautiful location at the edge of a splendid meadow. The tiny village (church, shop, half a dozen houses and TWO PUBS) is a couple of hundred yards stroll away and we ate at the The Talbot - good grub and a friendly welcome. We had wanted to visit Powis Castle for some time and this location is perfectly situated ten minutes away.

  • We received excellent communication from Helen after we'd booked giving directions and instructions for accessing the cottage. Helen came over to welcome us upon arrival and was very friendly and hospitable. The cottage was spotless and a real home from home with everything we could have possibly needed provided for our 2 night stay - even down to a Christmas tree! We didn't venture out into the local area as we just wanted a relaxing couple of days so I can't really comment on the area but the views from the back of the cottage were lovely and we definitely hope to return in the future to explore Welshpool further.

  • Heather was an absolute dream. We arrived to a lemon sponge cake and a truly beautiful place to stay. The cottage is lovely, cosy and quaint and in a beautiful village. Heather made our stay extra special, she gave us wonderful advice on walks and even drove us to the local town. Couldn't have wished for a more perfect weekend.

  • Greet place to relax and unwind, loved the cottage. One of the best places we have stayed in with Airbnb. Beautiful part of the world to explore. Highly recommend a stay :) Clive&Debs

  • Before we even arrived it was clear that Heather was making lots of effort to ensure we had a great stay, this continued throughout. The cottage is lovely, it was very clean and had everything we needed. The location right in the centre of the village is great - and the local village shop/butchers/ deli have all that is needed. I'd definitely recommend the cottage to others looking to visit this very pretty area of Wales.

  • We very much enjoyed our stay at The Old Corner Shop in Berriew, Wales. The flat was perfect for our visit and had everything we needed and was very clean and beautifully presented. Heather was a wonderful host and provided everything we needed including some freshly baked cake, yum! Both bedrooms overlooked the river and it was lovely drifting off to sleep listening to the sound of running water. Heather also provided a book of maps in which she outlined several trips through Wales. She recommended one specifically which we choose and it was amazing and made our visit to Wales very special. Thank you Heather.

  • It was a lonely, clean house with a nice balcony overlooking the river which caught the afternoon sun. The village was quaint with a good pub for food and beer just across the bridge. In all, a very stress free weekend.

    Philip2014-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • Heather is a really polite and friendly host, and the accommodation has everything you need to start a comfortable, relaxing holiday with plenty to see in the area.

  • The cottage is lovely, well equipped kitchen/diner, comfortable lounge, quiet bedrooms and a fantastic balcony overlooking the river. Berriew is a lovely little village with two pubs, the better one for food is The Talbot, lovely walks and is a good hub for visiting all the beautiful surrounding area.

Vielen Dank.

  • Had a fantastic couple of nights at Llys Hendy and will definitely consider returning. We were made to feel very welcome. The cottage was well-equipped with everything we needed. We were surprised to find fresh baked goods/milk/wine on arrival and the cottage was in a quiet relaxing location with stunning views. Thank you very much!

  • What a beautiful cottage! Definitely the best value for money, Tina is lovely, the type of lady you could easily have a cuppa tea and a chat to, very down to earth & a sense of humour! Adrian's wifi password was the hardest thing I had to do all weekend, syncing my phone to it.. If you stay you'll know what I mean! I could only describe my stay at llys hendy cottage nothing but enjoyable and comfortable. The cottage is how I would have my home, a real sense of peace and tranquility (you need a stone Buddha in the corner for the Pièce de résistance) I wish you every success, nice to meet you both, you were lovely x

  • A very lovely cottage in a quiet location. Adrian & Tina were very welcoming and friendly, and were especially accomodating when our arrival was delayed until late evening. The driving instructions were extremely helpful, since our SatNav/GPS wasn't. The cottage is spotless and in showroom-condition.

    Scott2015-07-11T00:00:00Z
  • Cosy, clean and self-contained. Llys Hendy Cottage was everything I hoped it would be. I spent a weekend here with my partner, and despite the delayed arrival after popping a tyre a few hundred yards from the cottage, we had a fantastic time from start to finish. The setting is perfectly idyllic, tucked away in the Welsh countryside, with the Shropshire Hills just a short drive away. And the cottage is really quite lovely, furnished with modern, homely decor, an oven and set of hobs for cooking, as well as a snug living room for resting weary legs after exploring the surrounding area. But above all, it has to be said, the cottage was totally immaculate; not a mote of dust in sight. I couldn't recommend Llys Hendy enough.

  • By far one of the most comfortable places we’ve ever stayed in. Llys Hendy Cottage is a perfect home away from home lovingly created by Adrian and Tina, both exceptional hosts who went above and beyond to ensure our stay was as perfect as it could be. The cottage has been finished to a very high standard, set in impeccable gardens and offers everything you could possible need - right down to a variety of sizes of spare wellies! We will definitely be back. Thank you Adrian and Tina for making our stay so enjoyable.

Beautifully decorated shepherd's hut in its own field with stunning views across the rolling hills of Mid-Wales.
It is our aim to offer our guests the chance to leave behind the busy and complicated modern world and return to basics, close to nature and all it has to offer for a restorative and memorable countryside break. A real chance to unplug from the world and connect with nature. The hut has been furnished and decorated to make it into a cosy and comfortable space to relax, rest and sleep. A deep wool mattress and wool duvets ensure a fabulous night’s sleep and with lots of cushions, pillows, bolsters and quilts, the double bed can be transformed into a luxurious reading den! The small but efficient woodburner will keep you warm and toasty inside. We offer the hut on a bed & breakfast basis with a choice of either a cooked breakfast at our house (a short walk away) or a breakfast basket (continental-style) delivered to the hut.
Quiet rural location with stunning views across the hills that will appeal to nature and wildlife lovers. Great spot for birdwatching. On a clear night, stargazing is a must! As well as interesting places to visit locally, there is plenty of scope for walking and cycling around us, the lanes being so quiet. The site has been created with minimal impact on the environment.
  • Thank you so much Maryline! It was a perfect escape from our busy lives. The Shepherds hut was so comfortable and had everything we needed. The little touches really made it. You've put so much love into the hut and it really shows. The breakfast basket was the best!! Thank you! Again, you really put a lot of love and effort into every detail. Your baking is so tasty and was such a treat to begin each day. Also, thank you for your hospitality, letting us use your shower. We couldn't fault a thing and will look forward to another visit. Thank you both so much. Love Sarah & Ashley Xx

  • Absolutely lovely stay, the location was perfect, extremely quiet and peaceful. Maryline has thought of everything in the Sheppard's but. I would strongly recommend this to others!

  • The Shepherd's Hut is absolutely enchanting. We were blown away by the views, the stars and the exceptional attention to detail within and around the hut. Everything is carefully thought about and beautifully executed. We couldn't recommend a stay here enough! Maryline is a friendly, helpful, and accommodating host, we felt very welcome and well looked after. Thank you!

    Amy2017-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • Honestly, I don't have enough good words to describe the magical night we spent at Maryline's little hut! From the starry sky, to the warm stove on a cold night, along with the unreal breakfast... our choice of stay definitely made the weekend seem like a much longer break! Gorgeous place, the cosiest of stays and a thoughtful and responsive host - what else could we want?

    Beatriz2017-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • An amazing "get away from it all" stay. A basic, natural, peaceful location where you are at one with nature. The only sounds are the birds, sheep and wind!!

    Kath2017-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • A very secluded spot....the Hut is deceptively spacious (feels bigger than in the pictures). There's a cabin next door with composting toilet and kitchen area with gas stove. It's a real back to basics experience...quiet, cosy, warm with great views and breakfast served at the Hut overlooking the Welsh hills. Maryline is a great host. The shepards hut is a great great getaway and we enjoyed the peace and tranquillity!

    Paul2017-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent. Just what I wanted. Absolute seclusion. Spotless. Warm with fantastic views. Cannot fault in any way.

The Owl House is a barn-end conversion in our garden adjoining my studio. We face south with views of Corndon hill and Stapely Common - great places to walk. You can also use our tennis court. The charming Georgian town of Montgomery is 3 miles away, with its castle, pubs, tea rooms and Michelin starred restaurant. You can walk there along the ancient Offas Dyke path which bisects our lane. Powis Castle ,with its terraced gardens and huge sculpted yew hedges, is 10 minutes drive away.

Rural Wales awaits, this fabulous barn conversion lies just outside the picturesque village of Berriew. A wonderful base to explore the unspoilted countryside of Mid-Wales with castles, canals, long walks, fishing, sailing and fine dining on offer.
It's a shared living space upstairs and there is one large shared bathroom next to the bedrooms downstairs - there is one twin room and a double available and can sleep a maximum of two persons in each. Guests are also welcome to use our tennis court and a garden house that over looks the brook at no extra cost. A continental breakfast is available with your booking on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays and you can upgrade to a cooked breakfast on request. We would prefer if guests didn't use the kitchen to cook, but if an evening meal is required on arrival then that can be arranged and provided for an additional fee or there is a pub within walking distance. Check-in from 18.15 Monday - Thursday and from 17.00 on Fridays - Sunday.
The converted barn is a former cow shed/hay barn situated within a small holding. Formerly a fully working farm we still keep a number of animals including sheep, chicken, geese and peacocks and have a cat and dog who live outside the flat. There is plenty of garden space to walk around and we have a brook and waterfall running though our land. You can relax in our garden house or play tennis which is enjoyable in the warmer summer months. There are some lovely local walks along the canal into Berriew and we are a short walk from The Horseshoes Pub which is on the main road.
  • Location - absolutely gorgeous setting, close to idyllic Welsh villages, cycling and walking routes. Close to plenty of local pubs. It's located just off a main through road which meant we had easy access to many local towns. Lovely, well done converted barn. Rupert was great, he is a friendly and helpful host and was always asking if we needed anything.

  • I booked for a colleague who was made to feel very welcome. Due to late trains and missed connections we arrived late which Rupert was more than accommodating with the change of time. My colleague enjoyed her stay, the accommodation was clean and tidy and she felt at home. The turing is a bit hidden but makes it all the more lovely... We highly recommend this accommodation.

  • A fantastic place to stay. We used the waggoners cottage as a base for a 4-day mountain biking trip around north Wales and it was fantastic. The hosts are lovely, very accommodating and relaxed. The cottage itself is very warm and cost which we appreciated during our winter trip! The hot tub is also great, and the view spectacular. Highly recommended!

Our lovely period house has cosy, comfortably furnished rooms, with a log fire providing a warm welcome in the living room during the winter months. This is one of three available double rooms . Complementary teas and coffees at any time. We're set in a quiet rural location along side the Montgomery canal and with easy access to the A483. This is the perfect location for exploring the area or if here on business. Booking is for a room/ 2 people. .
Our aim is to provide every guest with a warm and comfortable stay. All our rooms are spacious and provide the perfect place to come and unwind or explore this beautiful area. We are just 10 mins drive from Welshpool, Montgomery and Newtown and are situated near the Montgomery canal which has an excellent tow path for walking and cycling. The river Severn is a short walk across the fields behind us and in the summer months we run a kayaking and activity business from here : kingfisher kayak hire (see trip adviser reviews) Great for families, however there are steep stairs which make it unsuitable for toddlers and younger children or people with physical disabilities.
One of a small group of four rural properties, this attached period house is in a quiet and private location yet easily accessed as close to the A483. The Montgomery canal is to the front with excellent walking and cycling on the tow path and the river Severn is behind us. We're located a short drive from Welshpool, Newtown and Montgomery and ideally placed to explore the beautiful locality. We love to meet people from all over the world and will do our very best to make your stay as comfortable as possible.

  • Really nice stay while we were attending a wedding in the area. Ella went out of her way to help us out by giving me a lift to retrieve my car in the morning + lots of homemade Welsh cakes! I wasn't aware before staying but there is a castle ruins 30mins walk from the house (worth a visit). Breakfast is definitely worth the money, fresh fruit, yogurts, toast, cereal, bacon, egg, sausage etc. Thanks for putting up with us coming in late!

We used to rent our home on AirBnB : solid 5 star reviews! Put it back on but lost the ratings... Our family home is a detached 17th century farmhouse, in a beautiful part of mid-Wales, surrounded by wooded farmland and rolling open countryside. Dine alfresco in the pretty garden or sit in the conservatory with a cup of tea while watching the abundance of wildlife in the surrounding fields. You might even spot a rare osprey soaring above.
This detached 17th century farmhouse stands in a beautiful part of mid-Wales, surrounded by wooded farmland and rolling open countryside. Perfect all year round for families or groups of friends. Dine alfresco in the pretty garden, out on the deck or in the conservatory with a cup of tea while watching the abundance of wildlife in the surrounding fields. You might even spot a rare osprey soaring above. As the sun sets, snuggle up in front of the wood-burning stove and choose from the collection of board games, books and DVDs. Tyn Yr Wtra is bursting with character, with oak beams and doors, oak and quarry tile floors and an impressive inglenook fireplace. The cottage was built around 1630 when Charles I was just beginning his doomed reign of Britain. Perhaps our predecessors at Tyn Yr Wtra fought for the King in the Battle of Montgomery, just 6 miles away in 1644, the biggest battle fought in Wales during the civil wars. Inside are four bedrooms: 1 x king-size double with en-suite shower, basin and WC, 1 x twin, 1 x double, 1 x ground floor double. Bathroom with bath, shower over, bidet, basin and WC. Ground floor basin and WC. Fitted kitchen with woodburning stove, dining area and pantry. Utility. Sitting room with woodburning stove. Conservatory with informal dining area. Gardens: Tyn Yr Wtra is a garden lover’s paradise. The borders are stocked with a huge variety of plants and there is an abundance of fruit, from apples in the orchard, to raspberries, peaches, currants and tiny-but-delicious alpine strawberries scattered amongst the foliage. Eco-credentials: Our aim at Tyn Yr Wtra is to be as sustainable as possible. And at the cottage you’ll be very close to living ‘off-grid’, with water from our private spring, solar electricity and hot water, wood-fired central heating and hot water, with as much wood as possible from the cottage’s own land. For total ease there’s also oil fired heating and hot water – you’ll never need to be without toasty radiators and a nice warm bath!

  • We were welcomed that evening by rob with a bottle of wine, which was nice. He was helpful with information on the town, he was friendly and there was lots of leaflets with nearby amenities. The house was equipped with everything all we needed to get was our food shopping. Really was a lovely house, the layout was cool and the beds were really comfy. It was clean and tidy.

  • Great location in the middle of Welshpool. Plenty of room with a sociable open plan kitchen. All equipment you could need in the cupboards. The bedrooms were colder than the rest of the house, although the bedding was suitably warm.

  • Touchstone is a gem of a home to stay at. It is well located in Welshpool with local shops and places to eat close by. The house itself is upside down with the living area and kitchen/diner open plan with stunning high ceilings. The kitchen is well equipped including little extras such as salt, pepper, washing up liquid. The welcome pack was a nice touch as we arrived after a 5 hour drive and it was great to grab a hot drink & biscuit while we arrived and unpacked. The 3bedrooms are all located downstairs and they all have double beds which have lovely bedding, crisp, clean and fresh. The bathroom is gorgeous with a large, deep stand alone bath but also and great shower. There are a few steps which is the only potential negative it you have a family member that would struggle but for us this was fine. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Touchstone as Gabby and Rob are fantastic hosts. We plan to visit again.

Our home is a smallholding surrounded with its own land and with stunning views over the rolling hills of Mid-Wales. Situated only two miles from the main road, we are well connected to the towns of Welshpool and Newtown and beyond. At the same time, our secluded location on a quiet lane means our visitors can enjoy a wonderfully peaceful time close to nature.
We offer a comfortable double room on the first floor of our farmhouse. There is a toilet with basin on the first floor. The bathroom with bath, shower, basin and toilet is on the ground floor.
No noise or light pollution make birdwatching and stargazing an attractive feature of our secluded location.
  • Our stay with Maryline and Peter was only brief as we needed to be in the area for the weekend. They were very welcoming and warm hosts and their house was in a beautiful and peaceful area nearby (a short drive) to local amenities. We had a lovely meal at The Nags Head, a good night's sleep and a very very tasty home-cooked breakfast in the morning. Our stay went smoothly and we left feeling relaxed and happy. Thanks Maryline and Peter.

  • Maryline and Peter have a little piece of Welsh countryside heaven! It's such a peaceful, beautiful place that we abandoned our previous plans to spend our afternoon in Maryline's garden.

  • The welcome is very warm just had to find the house difficult because the postal code was not complete. It is modified. A fine house with wood stoves is heated and that worked fine. A delicious breakfast A place to come back. I was invited into the living room, too bad I only had one night. A place where you can make beautiful walks.

  • Lovely place to stay for a weekend - picturesque and peaceful in a beautiful, comfortable period farmhouse. Maryline and Peter were very friendly and accommodating but left us alone when we wanted privacy. Thanks for a truly enjoyable stay!

  • Very welcoming, helpful, knowledgeable about the area. Beautiful surroundings and scenery and the most amazing full English breakfast. Would definitely recommend.

  • My first Airbnb experience - if any future bookings approach the quality of my stay with Maryline and Peter then I'll be very happy! Location is quite remote but clear directions given by Maryline beforehand meant my arrival was straightforward. Beautiful farmhouse, gardens and sleeping quarters, with very accommodating and friendly hosts....Maryline's evening teas and cakes were an unexpected bonus!

    Ben2016-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • This is the first time I have used Airbnb. Maryline and Peter made me feel welcomed into their cosy and welsh farm house with stunning views of the Welsh landscape and was a perfect for me as I needed somewhere to relax and be quiet before I continue on the rest of my journey as I was traveling for work. Also Maryline was a lovely hostess and cooked a delicious breakfast before I left. I would highly recommend this place to anyone going this way! Great first introduction to using Airbnb thank you!

Private en suite rooms in the centre of this lovely old Georgian Town of Montgomery on the beautiful Welsh Marches. Walking, cycling or just relaxing. Price £75 is for 2 people in 1 en suite room inc. full delicious cooked breakfast. We have 2 rooms, one twin bedded and one double bedded both en suite. Either room can take an extra bed.
Our 2 en suite rooms are located at the rear of the house in the converted stable. Not near the road and therefore quiet - for a good nights sleep. Town centre location
This is an unspoilt Georgian town (more like a large village really) with a beautiful church, ruin castle, interesting shops and Michelin starred restaurant. All within easy walking distance of the house.
  • Warm, comfortable and very well appointed rooms, a lovely breakfast, and extremely thoughtful and welcoming hosts. We spent two cold nights here at the end of November, couldn't have been happier, and left feeling like we made new friends.

  • We loved our stay in Montgomery-Jill's place could not be more conveniently situated. Friendly hosts- Lovely room with bath, excellent breakfast (in a charming sun room/conservatory) and lots of help with our plans- would totally recommend to anyone thinking about staying in Montgomery. Montgomery itself is pretty/picturesque with its own history and castle. The small town is beautifully maintained with great walking in the surrounding countryside- we look forward to returning;) and would stay again. A and D

  • A lovely home in this interesting little town. The host, Jill, could not have been more welcoming given our early arrival, by one week!! An error on my part. A delicious breakfast, cooked with produce from local suppliers, in the unusual, but beautiful garden room. We stayed in the double room with the bath, in situ but preferred to use the ensuite shower.. Very peaceful location.

  • My husband and I stayed for one night with our 1 year old daughter and had a lovely time. We were greeted with tea and cake on arrival and made to feel very welcome. Our room was perfect and the breakfast in the morning was delicious, nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely stay here again next time we're in the area!

  • Jill and Hugh made us very welcome. We had a lovely afternoon tea and cake on arrival. The room was very quiet, private and comfortable. The breakfast was served in the conservatory and was delicious. We would definitely stay again when we’re in the area. Highly recommended.

  • A lovely welcome greeted our arrival after a long days walking - a cup of tea in Jill's lovely conservatory at the big table with the extra surprise of some truly delicious cake!! A very easy and relaxed household feel to everything which was just what we wanted - great showers, comfy beds and the most excellent breakfast. No rush, nothing too much trouble......very happy customers

  • Rupert was a great host, very friendly and welcoming without being over attentive. He lives and works in the flat, so it feels very much like his home that he is sharing. It's a beautiful barn conversion in a fabulous setting. It's not easy to find the entrance from the main road in the dark and it's a shame the pub across the has limited opening days in the winter. Neither of these are within Rupert's control and don't detract from a great airbnb experience.

Mil gracias Rupert. Maravilloso anfitrión.

Rupert was also very welcoming and was a great host, even offering breakfast. We couldn't recommend this place highly enough and if we were travelling within the area again we wouldn't hesitate to contact Rupert. 10/10 :) Michael & Jodie

  • Rupert was a fantastic host, being very responsive to my emails and questions. The place is absolutely lovely and there is plenty of space in the room and upstairs living area. Rupert was very flexible with breakfast and allowed us to use the kitchen whenever we wanted. We loved the use of the tennis court in the garden. The surrounding area is really nice for walkin and plenty of nice towns for lunch and dinner nearby. Overall a fantastic stay I would highly recommend it!

Welcome to Orchard cottage, a single storey building, annexed to ( but separate from ) our house. The cottage is furnished to a high standard. We are situated on the outskirts of a private residential area, just 400 metres from the centre of the historic market town of Welshpool, there are various shops, supermarkets, pubs & restaurants. The magnificent Powis castle is a short walk from the town centre, through the beautiful parkland. Other attractions include Montgomery canal & light railway.
  • We had a very enjoyable stay at Orchard cottage. The tea, coffee, cookies and fresh milk in the fridge was so welcome on arrival and very thoughtful of our hosts. The cottage was very well equipped (especially kitchen, including tea towels, cleaning products, oil, pepper etc..) with plenty of room to spread out, as there is a lounge and conservatory. There is a big garden, with apple trees and a very friendly labrador, which our toddler enjoyed running about in. Great location for walking into town via a fairly steep shortcut through the church. We visited the steam railway, Powis castle and had a nice lunch at the Bay Tree Vintage Tea Room in Welshpool. Would certainly recommend Orchard cottage.

  • Excellent stay with friendly hosts - clean, spacious, great kitchen and garden room - would visit again.

  • The cottage was exactly as advertised, it was so cozy with a beautiful garden setting. Frankie the Labrador came every morning to greet us, tea, coffee and Welsh cakes were awaiting our arrival. Annie was a very friendly and helpful host, we just wish we could have stayed longer.

Single bed room it can sleep 3 in 2 Bunk beds and a single bed. Lovely view over the neighbouring farm and Welsh hills. Very tranquil room, we're just a short car journey from the quaint little town of Montgomery. We serve Organic breakfasts.
We like to keep a relaxed and peaceful space, it's a perfect place to unwind, or if you want to heal mind, body and soul it's a wonderful place to come. We have chosen to be free of wifi and tv so that we can create a place to completely relax and unwind from the fast pace of life. We have 2 bed rooms inside the cottage, The Forest Room has a double bed and the Little India Room has bunk beds and a single. We have a gypsy wagon which is available to hire for b&b, and we are currently getting our other outdoor bedroom ready which is a beautiful cabin with stunning views, they both include organic breakfasts and have a shared indoor downstairs bathroom and access to the living room for extra space if required where all guests are welcome to relax and enjoy a cosy log fire in the cold weather, with plenty of lovely and interesting books available to read on the property, there is also a cd player with lots of ambient and world music available to relax to. Outside there are two large shared gardens to enjoy with plenty of quiet places to sit and rest with views across the valley.
The views are absolutely stunning we get the most beautiful sunsets across the valley, also on clear nights sometimes I feel dizzy looking up at the stars as you can see so many it's quite unbelievable if you've grown up in a city or town like myself. The people of Montgomery are so friendly and very welcoming. There are some wonderful eateries and shops in the little town and the castle ruins are lovely to wonder round. Montgomery has been described as a place where time forgot and I totally understand why. It's the perfect place to get away from it all, whilst there is still plenty of wonderful places nearby to visit.

This is a quiet and picturesque place, next to a river. We are within easy reach of Shrewsbury, Welshpool and Montgomery. We offer a cooked breakfast. Walking is very extensive nearby, with Offas Dyke path and the South Shropshire hills.
Our charge is per room per night based on two guests per room. We have 2 double rooms and a twin room available. We can put up a bed extra for a child, if needed. There is an ensuite bathroom for one double room, and a private bathroom for the other. The twin room has a shared bathroom.
Beautiful countryside (the vale of Montgomery). We are in a little hamlet with farms nearby. Gunley hall, a listed house, is opposite. We have views of the Kerry ridgeway, Montgomery hill and Corndon hill. Lots of birds (woodpeckers, kingfishers) and Otters in the river.

The lounge with its log fire was very welcoming at the end of the day. Breakfast was also fantastic. We enjoyed our stay and Stephen and Caroline are lovely hosts.

  • A huge thank you to Stephen and Caroline for their warm welcome and wonderful friendly home. It was like staying in a top hotel but with a warm family feel and wonderful personal service. What a beautiful peaceful spot, we were allowed to sit out and enjoy the large gardens and walk through and explore the 4 acres. All our needs were more than met and our little 3 yo grand daughter was welcome and made a fuss of, plenty of toys for her to play with and a special bed for her. We would heartily recommend this B&B for top class lodgings and service. Lynne.

  • Stephen and Caroline are most friendly and hospitable hosts and we had the unforgetable experience there! The house is located in a beautiful and peaceful place with a large garden and meadow. We were lost and maybe this is a destination to bring us to see the nice and beautiful people, Gwenda Jones, who took us to this property(URL HIDDEN)We had a wonderful time at this place. It is a lovely place, very clean with the fantastic view. The big bedrooms and big kitchen with some foods were ready for us. We woke up in the morning with a great breakfast in fantastic green view. Nothing to say more than this is the most perfect place in this our trip. And we would like to strongly recommend other people to stay here.
