What a great place! The loft is beautifully constructed and the thought that went into creating the space is evident. I enjoyed spending time in the loft taking in the gorgeous view as much as I enjoyed exploring the area! Lisa was a wonderful host and quick to help us with anything we needed. When we asked about using the BBQ, Lisa and her husband cleaned it and set it up complete with a side table, garbage can, and utensils. Location is wonderful and we easily walked to downtown Anacortes, grocery stores, and the water(URL HIDDEN)

What a GREAT PLACE! Book it!!!This has so many wonderful details that it truly is a retreat! What a GREAT FIND!!! They truly put a LOT of heart and creativity into creating this beautiful spot! Lisa & Erin were great hosts. Communication was fast and warm. I asked a lot of questions and they were great and patient. They offered suggestions for restaurants, what we might want to see, and sent map info. The neighborhood was nice and central - very easy to find. My husband, who isn't really a big B&B fan truly enjoyed this loft and the privacy while being so close to everything we wanted...but LOVED the robes! The view was so fabulous...I loved sitting on the sofa just to look at the skyline and mountains. They had everything from Q-Tips and wonderfully comfortable robes to making sure we had fabulous local coffee and providing creamer. Every detail of the place is charming, modern and beautiful ...but uniquely designed. Even the ceiling is something to appreciate. And we loved the coffee and the French Press...What a joy! I cannot rave enough about all the warm details of this beautiful, comfortable place and how great it is to meet kind hosts!

Lisa and Erin's hide away is close to the action ((walkable or drivable)/foreign lands or island life) yet secluded enough to disappear from the monotony of daily life. They were spectacular hosts. It gave us a chance to escape and wedding plan and it will give you some much needed relaxation. The pictures don't do it justice... you have to take in how all of the pieces fit together.

The stay was amazing! The home was very beautiful and clean. Definitely one of the best BnB places I've stayed in. The communication between us and Erin and Lisa was great. It's just a short drive between the house, places to eat and shopping. No problems what so ever!

Loved this place! They had everything we needed to be comfortable. We got in very late and they made sure to have lights on to make sure we could find it easily.

The studio is cozy and charming, and Sandra could not have been nicer. She went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable, and gave us valuable recommendations for where to eat.

I had a wonderful stay! I only wish I could have stayed longer and could have enjoyed the peaceful setting more. The small apple orchard and pond are like something out of a Robert Frost poem. Sandra was very kind and accommodating. The place was bright, clean, perfect for resting and relaxing and came stocked with some absolutely amazing coffee. I will definitely stay here again the next time I'm in Anacortes and would highly recommend it!

Sequoia made us feel very welcome to this comfortable studio apartment on her farm. The kitchen was equipped well, so we were able to prepare our meals there. A very peaceful location on Guemes Island with easy access to downtown Anacortes (ten minute walk from Anacortes ferry terminal to downtown).

We had a wonderful and relaxing stay on the farm! It was so nice to get away from the "noise" of life. I loved the room, from the kitchen to the floors, to the bed, to the compost toilet...we were able to roam the fields and were made to feel very comfortable by Sequoia and Lane. Lane even showed us how he makes paper! We were inspired by their way of self-sustaining living and would not hesitate to go back! Loved Guemes Island! Loved the beach and the hike up Guemes "mountain." My only suggestion would be that if you are leaving on a Sunday (probably just in the summer), give yourself at least 1 hour to wait in line for the ferry. Other than on Sunday, we didn't have to wait in line at all. Thank you Sequoia and Lane! We will be back!

it's an escape like no other. if you want and need to get out of the city and breath fresh air, this is your place.

This was a perfect valentines day getaway. The cabin was so warm and cozy with a beautiful view into the acres where chickens and ducks roamed. We wanted for nothing. The island was beautiful as well. We did the Mt Guemes hike, though no view because of the fog. We met the turkeys and a sheep and goat pair that were very friendly. We would love to come back and spend a bit longer on the farm. I would love to come in the summer and swim in the pond.

You have to pee in a bucket. And empty it outside in the meadow (or, as the host helpfully suggested, simply pee outside). Don't get me wrong: my husband and I had a delightful stay at this secluded, restful, beautiful little studio. Surrounded by meadow, forest, and sky, the place was clean and lovely, and we felt tucked away in a private, woodsy world. We would definitely come back. However, had the description of the sanitary arrangements been more explicit, we wouldn't have been so taken aback on our arrival. I've used composting toilets before - no problem. But here, you've got the CT for #2, and for #1, a toilet seat over a bucket (to be emptied outside). Moreover, the shower emits a feeble 9 thin strands of water, and adjusting the temperature is very difficult. It is a testament to the overall tranquillity and charm of this place, however, that these issues faded over our three days. What stands out is how much we enjoyed the peace (except, I feel compelled to add, between 4-5 a.m. when the rooster crows incessantly), reading and sketching outside on the little porch, the dinners we cooked, hiking up Guemes Mountain, and the secluded beaches where we rambled and looked at the spectacular San Juans. The kitchen is well-equipped (except it lacks a toaster), the bed is VERY comfortable, especially for those who like a firmer mattress; and the many windows flood the place with light. The only thing I really missed was a bookshelf full of books, since poking through someone else's random collection is one of the things I enjoy in vacation places. (However, I recognize that this isn't a big deal to everyone.)

What a serene stay we had at Sequoia and Lane's homestead. The setting is peaceful, private, and quiet. As host they were welcoming and gave us some great tips for exploring the island. Though staying rooted at the farm was our favorite part of the weekend. We enjoyed our stay immensely.

Sequoia was fantastic, she greeted us upon arrival and showed us around the property. Although we offered to help around the farm, she seemed to sense that my partner and I needed some alone time, and so we felt as though we were the only ones on the entire island.

Sequoia was very welcoming. The house was simple and minimalist, yet cozy and warm. The location was a convenient starting point for biking and running and exploring the island.

A friend and I stayed aboard the Singing Hallelujah for two nights and it was everything we had hoped for and more. The accommodations were pristine and the instructions for how to use everything (not so obvious on a boat!) were crystal clear. Beyond that, we sat out on the boat and drank tea and talked in the morning. We also walked into the town of Anacortes to eat and shop, meaning that we didn't have to use our car. It was so much more joyous and vacation-y to stay aboard the Singing Hallelujah, as opposed to the usual hotel. Thank you Barb and Byron for your stellar hospitality!

Byron and Barb do not live in Anacortes, but were wonderfully attentive and generous via email. The harbor where their boat is docked could not be more beautiful nor the town of Anacortes more charming.

The boat was charming and immaculate! The neighborhood is quiet and equally charming. As this isn't like your "everyday" B&B type of stay, a boat has some things that require some changes to your routine. Bryon and Barb offer a very clear summary of details about boat living. You get a great sense and experience of living the life of a boater! We thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it and look forward to doing it again soon. It was worth every penny!

A great view of the bay and islands only added to the relaxing experience. On a clear day, you can see across to the mountains on the Olympic Peninsula. And it's centrally located for exploring, either on foot or in car. Extremely good value compared to other homes we considered. This was a perfect getaway.

We had a wonderful time staying at Roxy and Bob's! The view is absolutely stunning, and the home is secluded but just a short drive away from restaurants, shopping, and the ferry terminal. The welcome was by text only but that was fine. I knew the house was modest from the photos so that was not an issue. The great location raises this apartment to four stars. This was my first experience with AirBnB, other than one previous reservation in Dublin, Ireland, that I had to cancel and lost my full payment. Bummer. We had no contact live with our host, who left a key hidden for us to find. Just a couple of texts. She lives in a neighboring city, not too far away. We love Anacortes and had a wonderful time, which we now associate with staying here. I have always wanted to live right downtown, preferably above a coffeehouse. Close enough (a block away). There are many good things about this apartment. Contrary to other reviews, noise was never a problem, either from the building or from the Eagles fraternal entertainment venue across the street. Here’s what is right with the apartment. The replacement windows are a charm, opening easily, full screens, very nice. The kitchen is efficient, as you can stand in one spot and do everything. The refrigerator is cold, the stove is hot. The shower works fine, the bed is comfortable. In fact, we slept very well here. So well, we felt lazy. If these pluses seem very basic, then they reflect the apartment, which is small and has very few appointments. One thing was in abundance, however: cleaning materials. In the bedroom closet, under the kitchen sink, in the bathroom. Indeed, the apartment is very clean. We never saw a bug. The paint and the carpet aren’t new, but well kept. In describing the apartment, the word “adequate” comes to mind. We enjoyed sitting at the kitchen table in the window (second floor), eating or working, watching the world pass by. We feel like we know the elderly lady who walks her dog three times a day. For a brief hotel-like stay, everything is fine. For a longer stay (we stayed two weeks), it is a little skimpy on the essentials. We aren’t unhappy. We hope to come back here again, maybe many times. That being said, we went to the thrift store and bought hangers, flatware (there was one teaspoon and one table spoon), a cork screw (some hosts even give you a bottle of wine), a cutting mat, a frying pan, tissues, a chopping knife, and some other items. From our son who lives here in the area (whom we are here to visit) we borrowed some pots, mixing bowls, and towels. So, we had pretty much everything we need. Were I the host here, I would make some changes. Now, when you first enter, you say, “Oh.” It could be furnished so you would say, “Oh, how cute.” I would have a binder with information about the apartment and Anacortes. I would add a TV and internet, and in the unfurnished part of the bedroom I would put a dresser and a little desk and chair and suit case stands. I would put towel bars in the bathroom, more linen, and fluffy bathrobes and coat hooks (or a...

Amy and Dan were the perfect hosts, we felt so welcome in this perfect little spot. Just big enough for all the comforts of home but cozy as a beach cottage should be. The location is the best - just down the street from the ferry terminal to the San Juan Islands and also to historic downtown Anacortes. The outdoor deck is just right for viewing the islands and the spectacular sunsets. The mornings were awesome as bunnies and a little fawn visited us in the yard off the deck. Amy and Dan provided all the necessities too, all we really need were our clothes, they even left us chocolate! We will be back for sure!

We went to Anacortes for the annual motorcycle Oyster Run. Easy to find and charming accommodations. Dan was there when we arrived and quickly gave us the run down of anything we wanted to know. As soon as we arrived, we were greeted by Amy and Dan, who gave us a tour of this charming space. We have to say, these two really know how to do AirBnB right! The kitchenette was well stocked, the deck provided the best spot to watch amazing sunsets, and there was even a bar of chocolate to enjoy! The location is perfect, as it's between old town Anacortes with its great shops and restaurants, and Washington Park, with its great hikes. We had such a lovely couple of days, and can't wait to come back!

Carol met me outside as I was pulling in, totally by coincidence. She was extremely nice and happy to be there, and gave me quite a few pamphlets about fun things to do in the area. The apartment itself was great, enough space to relax for the night and make a simple breakfast in the morning. This is a very cute and quaint, small room and bath with separate entrance off of the main house. If we had read the reviews more carefully, we would have known the bed was just a full, which is really too small for the two of us. However, Carol does have very nice bedding on the bed. The walls are thin so some noise is shared. The apartment is in a great location for seeing the Anacortes area and Carol had great suggestions for places to eat and was very helpful when needed. Since it was cool and rainy during the time we were there, it was very nice that we were able to control the temperature of our space.

The Ace of Hearts Apartment was perfect! We loved the privacy and the treehouse was absolutely fantastic! We would highly recommend this place to anyone who loves great views and having their own space. Carol also provided a little snack and a sheet with ideas about what to do in and around Anacortes which was much appreciated!

We just had a lovely two night stay at Carol's delightful shingled cottage. The private suite was framed with billowing curtains and our ensuite bathroom included thick towels and fancy toiletries. Although Carol unexpectedly could not personally be there - we had access to quick contact with her via phone/text as well as assistance from a family member who lived close by. A good selection of local brochures, trail guides, and maps were on the table when we arrived as well as a list Carol had done up of her fav things to do in Anacortes! We enjoyed that the suite was spotlessly clean and we pleasantly surprised by the baked goods from the nearby local bakery and the selection of teas/coffee which were also provided. Enjoyed the views from the funky tree house in the back yard, and also exploring in her artistic garden. Definitely would stay again!

Our one night stay here in Anacortes on our way to San Juan Island was a real treat. It was a very warm day but the lower level unit was perfectly cool. We picked up food and ate dinner outside in the courtyard, dipped our feet in the hot tub, and also enjoyed the sauna! Beautiful place - highly recommend.

All I can saw was wow! I was her first customer and she was the first airb&b for me as well. Lisa was absolutely awesome! When I got there she came down to meet me with a muffin and blueberries! She showed me around and told me about some great places to go. She is an owner of a few places in town where they serve food and drinks with great music on the weekend! The place was spotless and very home like. this is now my go to place when I'm going to Anacordes! Thank you!

Richard and Sue are wonderful, welcoming hosts and their apartment is perfect. We wanted a comfortable, relaxing place to unwind after some hiking and got just that. It has a beautiful view and the location is ideal for exploring the area. The kayaks available are the perfect way to get out on the water, and we were able to take advantage of one of the last days of summer by having dinner outside on the deck. The nearby towns of Bow and Edison have some very yummy foodie spots, allowing us to enjoy delicious brunches, lunches, and lots of oysters! Sue and Richard were also very helpful with recommendations and very flexible when we wanted to add a day onto our stay!

Richard and Sue greeted us warmly upon our arrival, giving us a nice start to our weekend stay. They are a very interesting and pleasant couple with whom we enjoyed talking! Their property is beautiful and just steps from the water. The apartment itself is immaculately clean and offers amazing north-facing views of Samish Bay. We enjoyed the unique and artful touches throughout the apartment. The location is great for access to the San Juan Islands and is a pleasure to drive to/from with all the surrounding scenery.

Our hosts were wonderful! We came to Washington because our son was in a car accident. Since he cannot drive we came to take him to his numerous Dr. Appointments. It is a very stressful time for us. But Sheila helped to accommodate us. We will have been here for around two months. On our down time we are able to relax and explore the beautiful area. We felt at home immediately . Part of my heart will be left behind when we have to return home. I have actually gotten healthier staying here. Organic farm to market food is wonderful!! The views right outside our windows are absolutely gorgeous . We will definitely be back. Thank you Sheila you were wonderful!!!

We came for the Skagit Spring Classic bicycle ride! We absolutely loved our stay. The unit is quaint but very cute and it was spacious and clean and quiet. Sheila was a great host and communicated well with us but let us have our privacy completely. What more could I ask for. I think what sold me was the old barn and the bicycle storage. Not always easy to get some storage space for our bikes. Thanks Sheila, we'll be back if you'll have us.

Samish Flats Farm Vintage Apartment We very much enjoyed staying here. Sheila and her husband were gracious and communicated well with us before the trip and during our stay. The place was totally quiet and being here was very relaxing and the perfect antidote from the city--yet only about one hour plus from Seattle. The apartment is very spacious, had everything we needed and the kitchen was well equipped. The kitchen and bedrooms being not "modern" - more like what a vintage farm apartment would look like - gave us the feeling that we were stepping back in time. It is a great place to stay if you just want to relax or take a drive through the farmlands and visit farm stands. It is also a wonderful starting point for biking to explore the area. More touristy La Conner and Mt. Vernon are close-by.

Sheila and Ries' place was lovely. Everything was very thoughtfully decorated and laid out. We were greeted with some fresh produce on the kitchen table. The space was tidy and clean - it felt very homey and comfortable. It was a great springboard for beach hoping and crabbing with less of the tourist onslaught that the San Juan's can have this time of the year. Her property was expansive - with beautiful views of the mountains and islands. We were also treated to some fairly stunning sunsets. Sheila and Ries were very communicative and helpful. We were quite pleased with the whole experience.

This is a very scenic and serene place- wonderful for a retreat from the city to rest ans recharge. There are many birds to watch from their place and the sunrise is beautiful.

This lovely tucked away place was so peaceful and beautiful - and our hosts Thais, Howard and adorable Bobbin were so warm, helpful but unobtrusive - we loved the amenities (lots of kitchen wares, amazing bird books, extra warm clothes, robes, telescope, nice shampoo/conditioner). The location seemed so precious, rare - we were a groomed backyard from the bay and a skinny little beach - we felt like we owned the place! The place is a quick drive to Bow and Fairhaven which we visited while in town for our run. If you are a birder - you would be in heaven!

The place is so comfortable and Thais was responsive to our every need. But the very best thing is the view, the quiet, and the wonderful location. I hate to rave about it too much so that it's full when we want to come back. Really wonderful getaway not far from Mt Vernon, Bellingham, and best of all the foodie haven of Edison. The bed was very comfortable, the kitchen well appointed, the eating/sitting area very cozy, and there is a lovely place to sit and eat outdoors. All in all this was the best airbnb experience ever.

What a wonderful experience. Great hosts and a great location! The house was everything it was described to be and more. The place was exceptionallying clean and comfortable. Beds were very comfortable and the view is awsome! We will definitely be staying at the birds nest again!

My man and I love Edison. It's the coolest little unexpected town that drips kultcha. Thais's place is super close to Edison, but also on the water and feels super remote / private. It is a high ceiling walk-in apartment in their home. Every morning was a private bird watching extravaganza! 16 heron gathered our first morning...who knew they congregated??! plus bald eagles, plovers and more! The place is very comfortable and you can watch the water from the living room or bedroom. Thais is an artist and obvious bird lover. Her paintings wonderfully adorn the place and they have TONS of bird books and a serious scope for watching! Had a great experience!!

The hosts were very welcoming to us. we checked in and except for a few text messages from them confirming that we had everything we needed, we did not see them again. It was quiet and peaceful and fully furnished. You will not be disappointed!

we were made to feel most welcome by our host. Not only was the place spotless clean there were hardboiled eggs and yogurt and some bottled water waiting for us in the fridge! The area is "out there" but only 25 minutes from anything and the ride is lovely. Bring a warm jacket...lol

Gerald and Lynne were so open and welcoming. The cottage was darling, the decor really special. It's a charming retreat on a bucolic farm road, and the perfect start to our getaway!

Gerald and Lynn have done an extraordinary job. Their cottages is one of the nicest places my wife and I have ever stayed. Moreover, the setting is gorgeous. Their description of the cottage may understate just how lovely it really is. To top it all off they provided a host of thoughtful provisions for our comfort from snacks to homemade baked goods to good books we were welcome to take is we got hooked. It is hard to praise them enough. (We are not related and we don't own a share of this place. We just really liked it!)

We had a wonderful experience at the Cottage at Carriage Hill. We arrived to fresh made chocolate chip cookies and a small bottle of champagne on ice. This was the last night's stop over on our honeymoon and Lynne and Gerald went above and beyond to warmly welcome us. The cottage is well appointed to your every need and has a decorator's touch with the beautiful furnishings and layout. There is a basket of quick breakfast items in the room (Granola, almonds, bars, etc). Lynne also made homemade cinnamon rolls for us. The small refrigerator in the room was stocked with milk, juice, beer, wine, yogurt and fruit cups. They have a Kurig and a French press with coffee grounds available. All this for no extra charge. We love the Bow location. It's a great base camp for activities in the entire area (Anacortes, LaConner, Chuckanut, Bellingham). Next time we'll bring our kayaks and go to Larabee State Park and Bowman Bay for day trips. Our hosts were also super generous and provided a gift certificate to the Chuckanut Manor for dinner. We had an amazing dinner there with beautiful view. The service and food were excellent. The cottage is located on a 5-acre well manicured property with lovely gardens which our hosts encouraged us to explore and make ourselves at home. We sat outside in the evening and watched a beautiful sunset. We've done a lot of different vacation rentals and this has got to be one of our favorites. Thank you for a perfect stay - we will definitely be back!

Gerald and Lynn replied to email/text queries regarding arrival time almost instantaneously. They were away from the house at our time of arrival, but had made clear in advance that they would be away for a bit of time after 3 PM. They came to find us in the garden when they arrived back and we chatted over a glass of wine. They were great hosts and the cottage was perfect, wonderfully appointed and very spacious with a large sitting/eating area separate from the bedroom and adjacent to the bathroom. You might not know it from talking to him, but Gerald is an accomplished artist (with several paintings in the cottage), and they are both very knowledgeable of the local area and much more beyond this! There was more high-quality breakfast and snack food available then one could possibly have consumed and additionally adult beverages for the evening. The location is beautiful with an extraordinary view to the bay and with two cows in the fields below, and woodpeckers visiting the trees outside the bedroom windows in the morning. We were made to feel welcome to walk in the gardens surrounding the main house which are extensive and beautiful. The cottage is decorated with a lot of Lynn's finds and we were also encouraged to walk through her large studio adjacent to the cottage which was also a great experience. The bath products that were provided were luxurious and there were a plethora of candles, as well as speakers that one could plug their iPhone into. Nothing was lacking!

Gerald and Lynne greeted us when we arrived with fresh baked goods and a tour. The cottage was charming and the view was incredible. It was well stocked and thoughtful. The location to Bow Edison, Fidalgo Bay and Chuckanut drive was perfect.

The cottage is comfortable and has a scenic view of the Skagit Valley. Gerald and Lynne left tasty home-made treats for us. They were very prompt with their communication. This place is close to many great restaurants in the Bow/Edison area. Stay here if you're looking for a respite from city-life.

Gerald & Lynne are very warm, friendly and welcoming hosts! We showed up and were given a tour of the cottage and grounds.... gorgeous! Gerald printed out a map of the area for us as we were on a bike ride and didn't have one. There was wine and snacks for us to enjoy in the room.. and Lynne made fresh cinnamon rolls for us the next morning. We felt very well taken care of and would definitely return.

this was one of my favorite experiences with Airbnb! Lynne and Gerald's place was so amazing and attached to their gallery. They were so hospitable and provided baked goods, wine, and a stocked fridge. They had so many suggestions and went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. Their place was very clean and comfortable and close to everything in the area. I would definitely recommend staying here

I had a wonderful stay and am thankful for Amy and Dan who made my first Air B&B experience flawless. I could go on and on about the variety of amenities, personal touches that made us feel at home, and fantastic location, so here are just a few highlights: - The bed was SO comfortable and had a memory foam layer. - The Jacuzzi tub was relaxing after a long week of travel. - The unit was very private and the room was large with an area to lounge near a fireplace. - The hosts were friendly and even had a "happy birthday message" for my boyfriend to welcome us. I can't wait to visit again and stay for several days. Thank you Amy and Dan!

Amy was away when we arrived but we had been in communication the day before and earlier that day, so there was no problem. Se got home an hour or so after we arrived and we had a pleasant chat. She was able to recommend a nice place for dinner. The house was wonderful; clean, quiet, and comfortable. I wish we could have stayed longer. Close to the waterfront, good birdwatching, great views!

Amy welcomed me to her place and was professional and friendly as she gave me instructions to the usage of their charming place. So much better than a hotel and more personal without a doubt. I met Dan the following morning as I left and he was also friendly. Very close to the water which was a big plus. Unfortunately I didn't spend much time since I was on the road but I would definitely recommend and I would stay there again.

Amy was welcoming and the room was just as described, cozy and intimate. Although the main house is situated on a busy street and guest house was quiet from street noise. AptB was clean with basic amenities to make coffee or tea. The deep soaker tub was made it even more relaxing. Can't wait to try Apt.A next time. Would highly recommend such a good value.

The kitchenette saves me a bundle on long stays. Everything a cook could want is in that little kitchen! Thank you for another "Welcome home" visit!

We stayed at the Plum Tree cottage, which was a large, bright and comfortable house on the property, in a park setting. Our deck had a peekaboo view of the beach and the mountains. The setting is very quiet and private, but the access to the main sights of the island is very easy. The cabin was clean and well equipped and the host gave us plenty of information about the main attractions available on Orcas Island.
