It is just a short walk to the University of Essex via Wivenhoe Public pathway. The the train station is also only 15 minute walk away through the Wivenhoe trail. Ideal for 1-2 guests, but a baby or small chid is welcome (providing that you bring your own travel cot & bedding with you).

Its thick brick walls and quiet and pretty disposition, defy its former role as a working yard where timber yachts were crafted and repaired, drawn up inside at high tide. Family friendly home in Rowhedge

Rowhedge is a pretty riverside village, just 15 minutes drive from Colchester and Essex University and 40 minutes from Harwich. Woodbine House is located on a quiet street, with access to a large recreation ground and children's play park. There are plenty of lovely walks close by through the woods or alongside the River Colne or Roman River. The riverfront is a short walk down the hill.
