If you’re traveling in Italy for a month or two like we are, you quickly learn not to take anything for granted. Until we reached Massimo’s impeccable apartment in Mantova, we had stayed in places without: wifi, a washing machine, a freezer, an oven, air conditioning or a fan (2017’s been a HOT summer!), soap, mosquito screens on the windows, elevator, hand soap in the bathroom or kitchen, TV, parking space, microwave, even a spatula! Even if we had not had those prior experiences for comparison, Massimo’s place still would have been great as it provided all those things I mentioned and more! Massimo is deservedly a superhost because he has thought of every detail to make your stay perfect: a wonderful espresso maker with Italian espresso pods, nice shower gel, big bath towels, fast wifi, a fully stocked kitchen with modern appliances (even a dishwasher). The place is a lovely, sunny one-bedroom apartment with large rooms, a remodeled bathroom, high ceilings and large windows. The master bed is comfy and the futon in the living room can add a whole other double bed for additional sleeping space. The kitchen is a large eat-in space with a dining table that seats 4 or 5 comfortably. Did I mention everything is impeccably clean? The neighborhood is peaceful and quiet, yet three blocks from Palazzo de Te and an easy 20 minute walk to the city center. Plenty of safe parking right in front of the building in a private courtyard. Massimo has a large map that he has personally notated with neighborhood necessities, and he is at your disposal whenever you need something before and during your stay. A gracious and thoughtful host!!
