Our stay at Janika's was wonderful. The house and garden are even more wonderful and cosy than they look like on the photos, the sea, a forest and a huge supermarket are just around the corner. Janika and her husband were very kind and helped us to feel very comfortable at their place. We got great instructions on how to get to the house and Janika also offered advice on other questions we had. Thanks for everything!!
Janika's place in Pirita is just charming! It's an old stony residence with very beatiful decoration and romantic interior. Rural chickens are running in the yard and the garden is very beautiful. I was unsatisfied with the wi-fi-connection, as it was not working at all inside the house, and I would have needed it. Also the surroundings are not very nice now, as there is a construction site next to the house and it makes continuing noise. There is not direct access to the seaside, but very close is very beatiful landscape for jogging and a huge public beach.
The apartment made our holiday: close to the beach and well connected to the city centre, yet very quiet and relaxing with all the surrounding greenery and lovey decoration of the flat. Janika was a very kind and helpful host. We enjoyed our stay so much that we will definitely come back again for another trip to Tallinn.
We know Tallinn well and have stayed in Pirita before, but not in a house, and certainly not in a strawbale house, so Janika’s place was a new and very welcome experience for us. From the moment we walked in, we felt like home, and from the moment we left, we started plotting our return. Janika is a talented interior designer who is also very close to nature. She built and designed the house herself and it has everything to make one feel very cosy and grounded, not least the lovely cat, dog and chickens that wander about the lovely yard. If you wish, the chow chow and cat will also keep you company inside. For us animal lovers who are currently deprived of animals it was heaven. While the house is hidden away, it is also extremely accessible. The bus stop is just minutes away, as is a Selver supermarket. It’s about 15 minutes by bus to Old Town. The bakery making the very best Muhu bread is about a 7 minute walk from Janika’s place. Noa, one of Tallinn’s best restaurants with a phenomenal sea view is about 15 minutes by bus in the other direction. Although direct sea access from Janika’s house has been blocked by construction at Pirita, which is, unfortunately, undergoing development, it’s a short walk to the sea, and the area is surrounded by parks. We loved our stay, and we dream of coming back!
