Hausregeln
Diese Unterkunft eignet sich nicht für Kleinkinder (0–2 Jahre) und der Gastgeber verbietet Haustiere, Partys und Rauchen.
Our cottage is the original dwelling in a beautiful Grade II, 14th century Medieval Longhouse. We live in the 'byre' end of the building - originally the 'cow shed' and are on hand for any help or advice - or perhaps a glass of wine...

Note - Doorway beams are low and staircase is characteristically steep.

Burrington is a beautiful and very quiet small hamlet 2.5 miles from Leintwardine (and the nearest shop and pubs), 5 miles from Ludlow and just a couple of miles from Mortimer Forest.

Die Unterkunft
There are two double bedrooms, a single bedroom and a beautiful family bathroom with fantastic shower on the upper floor. The lounge is comfortable with TV and 'toasty' log burner for chilly evenings - though the 'green' heating system and underfloor in the dining room are more than adequate to keep the cottage cosy even in the winter. A table for six in the dining room stands in front of the inglenook fireplace with another log burner - a fully equipped kitchen with Rangemaster stove will cover all your catering needs - well almost.. no dishwasher so you will have to wash up the traditional way, by hand.
We are not quite a small holding, but we have many free range animals, if you are allergic to any animals that we have please do not book as this is their home, so they come and go, if your door is open, a chicken, cat dog or even pony may wander in, Although this is very rare and your Let is not housing any of these animals on a daily basis, and is very clean. Other than the uncontrollable appearance of spiders.

Zugang für Gäste
We only let the cottage to one set of guests at a time, who between them have exclusive use of the kitchen, lounge and Dining room. The outside space surrounds the property so guests are free to roam or relax as long as you don't mind bumping into Mark and I or our extended family of free roaming chickens, ducks & nosy Jack Russells - Nip and Tuck! - oh and if its nice and dry you might meet Colin our Shire horse, Bertie our section D and cheeky miniature Shetlands Buzz and Woody who may be in the paddock at the rear of the house. There is plenty of space to park and a private entrance for our guests.

Weitere wichtige Hinweise
An ideal base for walking (there are numerous public footpaths close by) and cycling. We could also accommodate your horses if you wanted to explore the beautiful scenery and Mortimer Forest on horseback (please contact us for details).

For a less strenuous evening there is a good Fish & Chip shop in the village next to The Sun Inn - you can even take them in the pub to eat..

In an area of outstanding natural beauty, Lower House is the perfect place for those seeking a peaceful escape. A short walk up to the Bringewood and you will enjoying far reaching views over the valley and the Welsh hills, Lower House lies nestled in a gentle valley in the tiny hamlet of Burrington which dates back to the Domsday book. St Georges church, famous for its fine series of cast iron grave slabs is just at the top of the garden. Downton, referred to as "Duntune" or "hill settlement" in the Domesday book, is just a mile down the road and the Bringewood with its stunning views and popular wedding venue just half a mile up the lane. Leintwardine village is a couple of miles with shop, petrol station, local butchers, The Lion - a beautiful riverside pub & The Sun Inn -one of the few remaining 'parlour pubs' in the country. Further afield Visit the historic market towns of Ludlow, Leominster & Clun and the nearby Welsh Marches which abound in historic sites and castles.
Due to Covid we recommend pre booking for almost everything, unfortunately.

Mark and I Own 5 horses three dogs and two cats, Chickens and Ducks. I love to ride out with Mark through our beautiful countryside that is our 'backyard'. Mark is a company Director, Whilst I am on hand at home if you need me, i would like to say a lady of leisure, but chance would be a fine thing.

Während deines Aufenthaltes
Mark works from home on occasion but i am at home pretty well most of the time , but we are just the other side of an adjoining locked door on the evenings and weekends if you need us - or by phone in an emergency.
