Escape the city and go to your own deserted island and live primitive! Explore the wilderness and the native forest! Enjoy silent days and nights, catch and make your own food, make your own firewood and do bush-craft. It's set for an adventure! As an extra thing to do, you can rent a toolbox containing tools for woodworking. It is also books in the box that show how to make simple projects from fresh wood, such as spatulas, spoons and kuksas. Search for #rosenholmen( gripen.gard) on Instagram.

Die Unterkunft
This is a very special place! If you want, I can shop what you need before you arrive, so food for your stay could be ready for you in the boat. It is 15 min rowing from the Gripavika, the landing at the farm. You must know how to row, to stay at Rosenholmen. I have a large collection of life vests. But I need to know your weight to be sure that I have vests for everybody. At the island you can have a bonfire outside, and also the tepee has a wood burning stove, where you can cook meals. At the island you will find all you need for surviving in the wild. Boat, fishing gear, life vests, beds, blankets, towels, pots and pans, cutlery, a wood burning stove, firewood, ax, saw, and so on. I set the teepee up for four guests, but it is possible to add more bedding if needed. I need to know in good time, and it will cost a bit extra. For rainy days, or just for fun, I have a toolbox with wood carving tools for rent , so you can produce you own stuff from the forest, like a kuksa (cup made from wood), spoons, handles, or whatever you want and are able to do. It contains also books about things to make. This toolbox give you the opportunity to have an extra interesting stay at the island. Important: The box contains valuable tools, so you have to bring it from my farm, and take it back when you leave. It cost 100 kroner per day, so if you want to rent it, you let me know. :-) I highly recommend to do this! Other then that, you just live as in the wild. From the island, you can see no housing. It is you, and the wilderness! From summer you can pick berries, and in the autumn mushrooms. It is a lot in the forest around the lake, and also at Roseholmen. For the mushroom you have to know what you are doing, of course!

Zugang für Gäste
Guests will have the whole island for them self. It is best if you bring your own sleeping bag, but you can order for duvets and bedding. that will have a extra cost. It is mattresses and camp-beds in the tipi. It is also som sleeping bags there, so you can bring your own sleeping bag sheets.
If you need me to shop for you, I have to charge you for this, also if you want bedding like duvets with covers and so, or if I need to pick you up from the bus-stop. If you need some of this, you just notify me in advance. :-)

Weitere wichtige Hinweise
This is a stay in the wilderness, even if it is not that far from Bergen. It is no facility's like a shower or bathroom on the island. It has got a "special place", but no comfort like in ordinary homes.

I think this is a great thing to do with children. To explore native nature, and to live on its premises.

In dry period, you must respect the ban on fires. But this happen very, very seldom. But now in 2018, we are experiencing a heavy drought, and all fires, even in gardens are banned. Hopefully we get some rain soon!

It is no such thing as neighborhood! :-) It is you, the lake, the forest, the wild life of the forest, and the island. And of course; the toolbox. ;-)

Thought I would start by saying that I run a small farm, and therefore I am outside pretty much all day, and it is difficult to answer emails quickly. In addition, I have very poor mobile coverage. Therefore, occasionally it can take some time before I respond. Just so that you know. I am as you see a rural person and like to be outside. Love the work at the farm. At the farm we have sheep, dogs, pigs and chickens. I am originally an architect, but I now have a small antiquarian workshop, where I repair damaged construction details, windows, furniture, etc. In addition to that, I run the farm, and now I have made some very special accommodations at the farm, who is very remote. Before I had a house in Bergen, but since I broke up with my husband, he got the house in the city, and I got the farm (luckily). This is the reason for the many Airbnb cancellations on the house in the city, in case you gave that some thoughts. Now I am my own boss, and everything is just cool! :-) In music I love Tom Waits, Bob Dylan, Nick Cave and other grumpy old guys, I also love folk music, strange instruments and also new bands like The First Wolf. I also love Norwegian music like the Kaizers Orchestra (who you really should check out). At the time, my favorite thing to do is woodcarving, and it is even nicer with Bob and Tom on my loudspeaker :-D The food I like to make is food who I grew, picked or fished myself, here in my surroundings. I am a very content person, happy and easygoing, just because I decided to be! There is hardship in life, but I just don't let it ruin my spirit! I love the life in the countryside, the farm, and the wilderness surrounding me! I also love my animals, and my rental breeding rams are my pride! I really enjoy life, it is so full of interesting things and people. I am a Jack of all trades, and do what I want or must do, who is a whole range of things. And of course; I want my guests to be happy too. Even if I tend to be very busy, as the life on a farm is, I want to interact with my guests, if they wish so. My motto in life must be this: stay positive, there is always a solution! ;-)
