Please read the positives at the bottom of this review and all of our other positive reviews. There is no way that you can stay at our beautiful home and not be smitten with it.
Murray booked with us on the day of arrival with absolute zero advanced notice. As a host, this was one of the times when you get a call from the Airbnb customer service and they say they have a guest they want to place immediately. We immediately accepted Murray's booking and immediately called him to tell him that on this very day, my son was being born in Hackensack hospital in NJ and that the house would take us until the evening to get 100% cleaned. It is a 3 story house over 2400sqft so depending on how the previous guests have left it it can occasionally be a project to get it back to squeaky clean. My cleaners arrived as early as they could around 7 and masterfully cleaned up all of the items mentioned in the review. I myself drove from Hackensack NJ back to Park Slope Brooklyn just to meet with Murray and his family and to make sure that they were getting all taken care of appropriately.
Murray and his family were coming to stay with us from another place in Williamsburg that they did not find suitable. Murray and his family were nice people so I don't want to say anything bad however, I think they were coming into their stay with the distaste of the previous place that they had rejected. When all of our other guests have given 5 star reviews I think was a matter of mindset not an actual "out of the normal" situation. Until our cleaners arrive the house is in the state it was left by our previous guests.
We are super phenomenal hosts but unfortunately sometimes guests lease surprises or accidents happen or something is missing that was prior in our inventory. We have a big house and we have a lot of extra sets of linens and an array of cleaning supplies to cover any of these types of surprises but we need time to get everything 100%. First impressions count, but we would rather offer to our guests the freedom to check in when you want and the ability to not have to lug, schlep, and haul luggage around the city until they can officially check-in. As a courtesy we allow guests to drop bags off before the official check-in time but we always ask that they don't judge the house until we have turned it over at official check-in time. Murray's booking was last minute coupled with it being the day that my sone was born and in the end we still got everything organized so please take the context into consideration when booking.
We go above and beyond for our guests. and you can book with confidence knowing that we are available to help facilitate your exceptional stay.
