Pilton, England, Vereinigtes Königreich
Pilton is quiet ! - and there are no streetlights !. The village pub is a few minutes walk up the lane, and there’s a rechargeable torch by the door to take with you if you go out after dark. The Crown serves food till 9 most nights, worth a call to check in advance. It's basic pub grub, but you'll get a friendly welcome and a good local pint (of cider!).
Coming in early July 2020 we will have a shop again in the village ! - a small co-op is due to open on 4th July. It will be tiny, but will have the basics I’m sure. Even more reason to visit our lovely village!.
Pilton Working Mens Club is also in the village, and open to all. They have bands/events on most weekends, and the "Emerging Talent Competition" for Glastonbury Festival is often on on Saturday nights.
The village itself is beautiful. Spend some time wandering the lanes and checking out the old stone houses set back from the roads. You have some fab country walks round the outskirts too, if you head down Hitchen Hill from our front door, you're on Worthy Farm. You'll see plenty of dog walkers and amblers out and about if the weather is nice. (Stick to the paths on the farm though please, remember this is a working dairy farm).
Also in the village - the Tythe Barn, St John The Baptist's Church, and Pilton Methodist Church - all worth a look.
Further afield - Glastonbury, Wells, Shepton Mallet, Cheddar - this list goes on. Country pubs and little local Somerset places in abundance....

Living between Somerset and London. London for work unfortunately but my heart is definitely in Somerset!. I love Pilton, the people are wonderful, and the place is fully of character and old-world charm. Obviously the festival is an attraction.... but even outside of festival time, I love walking the dog across Worthy Farm, the land is just stunning.
