Holly Toft is a lovingly converted, detached stone cottage, perched on the edge of a drumlin hill, overlooking the beautiful rolling countryside of the Ribble Valley. With uninterrupted panoramic views of the Forest of Bowland, the majestic hills of Whernside, Pen-y-ghent and Ingleborough, it truly is a special place. Whilst mature lime trees stand guard in front of the property, Weets Hill looms spectacularly nearby. Relax in front of the woodburning stove whilst drinking in the views.

Die Unterkunft
Holly Toft has a large, lofty, light filled living room with breathtaking views of Weets Hill and sweeping vistas of the Trough of Bowland, comfy leather sofas and a contemporary woodburning stove. An HD TV with Freesat, Chromecast and WiFi access, enables you to keep in touch with the world. Move seamlessly through the doorway into the large open plan kitchen/ dining area which is spacious and well equipped with a cooker, hob, fridge, dishwasher, microwave and washing machine. Turn right through the door into the bedroom where you'll find a large comfortable bed with soft feathery pillows, then explore the stylish shower room beyond.

Zugang für Gäste
Wrapped around the property is a private patio with raised seating area and a luxurious, private hot tub to add to your relaxing holiday experience.
PLEASE NOTE. The hot tub will be ready on arrival at 3pm and will be emptied and refilled on the guests final evening. During the “winter” (October to March) this will be at 6pm and in “summer” ( April to September) 9.00pm at the very latest.

Weitere wichtige Hinweise
Holly Toft, built in 1901, was originally a stone coach house and stable barn for Hollinwood House. The 54 sq metre cottage, totally refurbished in 2018, welcomed it’s first guests in March 2018. It is an outstanding property nestling in an area of unrivalled natural beauty, well worth a visit.

The hot tub safety information in the info manual must be read before using it. Please note as the hot tub will be ready when guests arrive at 3pm, it will be emptied the evening before guests leave (at 6pm in winter and 9pm in the summer at the latest) so the spring water of 6 degrees has time to reach 38 degrees for the next guests. It heats up at approximately 2 degrees an hour. It is sanitised with chlorine tablets and the ph is checked throughout the guests stay.

Holly Toft is accommodation for a couple on a romantic retreat. There is parking for one car only. Visitors of guests are not permitted neither are smokers!

Lage

Brogden, Barnoldswick, England, Vereinigtes Königreich

Walks from the doorstep stretch in every direction. A roman road beckons from across the meadows, the summit of Weets Hill is a tantalising afternoon stroll. Explore the Leeds to Liverpool canal offering walks in either direction, enjoy helping the narrowboats navigate the lock system of Barnoldswick, the highest point on the longest canal in Britain.
Good eateries abound and for a cafe lunch walk up the ginnel from Bridge 153 into the Esse cafe and enjoy beautifully prepared food.
Pop into town and enjoy our gastro pub, The Fountain, Barlick Tap which is a friendly micro brewery and Chewies, a great gin bar. For a lively music scene and great food especially breakfast, you can’t beat the Music and Arts Centre ( the Irish bar) where Pete Barton (the Animals 60’s group “The house of the rising sun” fame) has his mates round for cracking evenings jamming in the basement bar. The Greyhound also has good guest beers and lively bands at the weekends. Check them out online and schedule your itinerary !

Scare yourself half to death on a ghost tour of Clitheroe Castle with Simon Armitage, resplendent in a top hat, plumb the depths exploring an underground cave system at Ingleton or try an exhilarating Landrover experience nearby. Fancy a trip on a steam train? The Settle Carlisle line awaits. Or love steam engines? Bancroft Mill Steam Engine Museum is a short walk away with steaming days throughout the year. Imagine walking in the footsteps of J..R. R. Tolkien, a five and a half mile trek through the Ribble Valley on the Lord of the Rings Trail. A little further afield is Pendle Hill, of Pendle Witch fame, which is great for an afternoon stroll.

For the more energetic Malham Cove and the Three Peaks is an unmissable challenge, or bring your bike and follow the Tour de Yorkshire route! Hire bikes from wickedbikezltd @ hotmail dot com, have them delivered to Holly Toft, then peddle along the towpaths or tackle the Ribble Valley trails.

Holly Toft has information on a plethora of things to do, see and experience, come rain or shine!

As a guest at Holly Toft you’ll be provided with a starter pack of wood and firelighters, two towels each, two bath robes for hot tub use, and linen for the bed, a tea towel, oven glove and new dishcloth, shower gel and liquid soap. Toilet rolls, kitchen paper and condiments are provided, however, Holly Toft also provides battery powered flickering candles as lit wax candles, which are a naked flame, are prohibited under the insurance schedule as is smoking, due to the fire risk. If you stay for four days or more, a variety of bathroom products are provided. A starter pack of tea bags, coffee, hot chocolate and sugar will be waiting for you when you arrive.

COVID19
Guests will be expected to scan the NHS QR code poster in Holly Toft when they arrive, using the NHS COVID-19 app.
Holly Toft is thoroughly cleaned, then steam cleaned between guests. 70% Isopropyl alcohol is also used to ensure 100% of virus’s are eliminated, without the need of additional chemicals and a UV light cleaner used on those hard to tackle nooks and crannies like TV remotes for example. The hot tub has always been sanitised by using chlorine tablets. Unfortunately the variety of bathroom goodies will not be provided to comply with Covid advice. Please arrive after 3pm to allow for additional cleaning time and for an hour to have elapsed after cleaning and before entry of guests.
Some of the local eateries will not be open during Covid, please call them before visiting to reserve a table for dinner. All information on local hostelries is in the information pack in Holly Toft or can be sent to you before arrival so you can book in advance.
