Die Unterkunft
Buffalo Lodge is furnished with antiques, yet offers modern day luxury and convenience.

- The kitchen is fully equipped with cooking appliances and supplies (even an ice cream maker). Basic pantry items, such as oils, spices, sugar, butter, flour and milk are already there for your convenience. We have a stovetop with small oven (large enough for 13x9 pan, but not tall enough for a turkey), toaster, microwave, coffee percolator and crockpot, pots and pans, BBQ utensils, propane grill, and dinnerware.

- A complimentary bottle of bubbly will be waiting for you in the fridge, as well as all the fixins’ for a hearty breakfast on your first morning. Generally this will be eggs from our hens, sausage, orange juice, English muffins, oatmeal , muffin mixes, pancake mix & syrup, butter, jam, coffee, tea, coco powder, milk and half and half.

- The dining table seats six. Or dine on the 300 square foot screened-in porch (no pesky flies ruining your BBQ), while watching for the occasional deer, coyote, or aoudad. There are many bird species as well, such as road runners, quail, hawks, orioles, indigo buntings, stellar jays and owls.

- The great room offers comfortable seating, and a KING bed near the bathroom. There are many board games and puzzles for adults and children. There is a smart TV with Netflix. We also have an interesting selection of books about the area.

- A spiral staircase accesses the loft bedroom which features two beds (a single and a double), and TV/DVD.

- The extra large bathroom with clawfoot bathtub and a crystal chandelier is luxurious, elegant, and every woman’s dream. We provide luxury soaps and lotions, bath bombs, bath bubbles, facial masks, cotton balls, Q Tips, make-up removal towelettes, shampoo and cream rinse, and a hair dryer.

-WiFi and telephone is onsite, as is a BBQ grill with propane tank.

-There is a wood burning stove in the cabin for cozy winter days (February only). We supply mesquite firewood. Of course the cabin has central heat and air conditioning.

- Kids might find an arrowhead or old horseshoe souvenir.

- We supply all basic toiletry items, as well as hair dryer, iron and ironing board.

- Let us know in advance if you have toddlers and need gates in front of the stairs and wood stove.

- We now have a miniature horse and a miniature goat, guests can pet, groom and interact with.

- We have changed to a no pets policy. If you wish to bring your pet, contact us PRIOR to booking to discuss. We may (or may not), be able to accommodate under certain circumstances.

Zugang für Gäste
Guests have the entire cabin centered on over 6 secluded acres of peace and quiet all to themselves. There is only one other cabin (The Hideout at Palo Duro Canyon - Rider’s Roost, which sleeps 4), on the 6.5 acre property. There are beautiful horses grazing and a barn cat “Chief” hangs around the stable. All this privacy, yet the State Park which offers hiking and mountain biking nirvana, the Palo Duro Zip Line Adventure Park, Palo Duro Creek RanchJeeping tours, and Palo Duro Riding Stables are all less than two miles away! And don’t forget the musical drama TEXAS which shows in the park’s outdoor amphitheater June through mid-August.
If you like museums, the Panhandle Plains Historical Museum is approximately 10 miles away and is the largest history museum in the state of Texas.
Bar Z Winery is also near by.
It’s a 30 minute drive to Amarillo, home of the famous Route 66, the Cadillac Ranch, The Big Texan Steak Ranch, the Amarillo Center for the Performing Arts, Amarillo Botanical Gardens, and the 6th street antique malls.

Weitere wichtige Hinweise
Due to the fact there are horses on the property, it is imperative that guests keep the entrance gate closed at all times when entering or exiting the property.

Our horses graze on our neighbor’s property. However guests are not allowed to access neighboring properties and must remain within the 6.5 fenced acres of this property. Please be sure all members in your party are aware of this.

While our horses are very friendly, do not pet or feed them. All activities on the property are subject to the Equine Inherent Risk Law. By renting the property you have indicated that by your presence on the grounds you have accepted the limits of liability resulting from inherent risks of equine activities under Texas law.

We do allow our guests to pet, but not feed our miniature horse, Sassy, and our goat, Diego.

No smoking is allowed inside the cabin or elsewhere on the property due to high fire danger. This is a very strict rule. We do allow smoking in the screened porch where we provide a cigarette disposal receptacle.

This is a quiet zone, with noise restrictions. No parties, outside music or events.

The property is a no drone zone. Use of drones is expressly prohibited.

We have had to change over to a no pet policy. Contact owner with pet request. We welcome small (maximum 20 lbs.), well-behaved pets that are either crated or taken with you while you are away from the cabin. We do require pets be on a leash at all times while on the grounds and we expect you to pick up their waste (baggies and a scoop provided). We provide extra blankets to cover the furniture if your pet gets on furniture. Pets are not allowed upstairs in the loft bedroom or in the stable area or stable living quarters. Pets are not allowed on the beds. Pets are not allowed to claw doors and walls. We will charge a non-refundable $75 PER pet fee (maximum 2 pets allowed). We can provide a (1), crate if arranged prior to your arrival. Pets are not permitted without approval by owner prior to booking. If guests are unable to follow policy, do not request to bring pet.

We will not ship forgotten items to you! Anything you leave behind will be donated to local charities.
