Il Posto di Luce is situated in the National Park of the Gran Sasso near Farindola in the province of Pescara in Abruzzo. It is a place where time has stood still, and life is lived through ancient farming traditions. The casetta stands in the grounds of over 20,000 sq metres of land including ancient forest and is a 30 minute drive from the extraordinary landscape of Campo Imperatore. It is an ideal location for writers, artists, bird watchers and anyone who just wants to get away from it all.

Der Wohnraum

The casetta is a typical Italian farm cottage, with stone walls and floors. It has two storeys with the upstairs being accessed by an external staircase. It can easily accommodate a couple. Whilst there is running water in the kitchen there are no bathroom facilities as yet. These are found in the main house which is close by. There is ample parking space, and as it is remote a car is required to get around and explore. The cottage is available to book from April 1st to October 30th.

Zugang für Gäste

Guests have access to the grounds, and to picking whatever fruit or vegetables are in season. They also have access to firewood for heating. There is also free wifi available. I can provide towels and hairdryer. The casetta is set up on a self catering basis.

Interaktion mit Gästen

I wish to make my guests welcome and hospitality is very important to me. I have lived here for two years and have settled into the small community here. I have a close tie with a tourist company and can help you organise a range of activities, such as trekking, hiking, visiting wineries, mountain biking, etc.

Weitere wichtige Infos

My home is 650 mts above sea level, set in the Appenine Mountain range. I overlook the town of Farindola with amazing views which face south towards the Adriatic coast. The weather can be extreme, both snow and sunshine. The casetta is open for renting between the beginning of April and the end of October.

Nutzerprofil von Maria

Hi my name is Maria, and I came to live in this idyllic but remote setting on the edge of the Gran Sasso National Park just over two years ago. My home consists of a main house and a small woodsmans cottage and is situated 4 kilometres from the medieval hill top town of Farindola known for its Pecorino Cheese, and International Arts Festival. I live in a hamlet called Fiano with about 8 other neighbours. Life here is relaxed and sustainable in the foothills of the Appenine mountain range which snakes through Central Italy down to the South. All produce here is organic, the water comes directly from the mountains, and the air is unpolluted. My home offers outstanding views overlooking valleys, hills and the Adriatic coast. I have inherited two cats and have recently acquired a white mountain sheepdog, known as a Pastore Abruzzese. My interests include teaching English, current affairs, classic and contemporary music, patient advocacy and all health related matters. I worked for many years as an adviser to the Department of Health on patient safety, and patient advocacy, and I am interested in nutrition, keeping fit and enjoying nature. I love the solitude and challenges that living on my own in this place of outstanding beauty affords me. My favourite travel destination is Italy! I love its culture, music, art, food, and history. I get up every day and never tire of the dramatic scenery around me. Whilst I love the solitude I am also aware that this setting offers a place of respite for whoever visits it. So I want to share it with you! My life motto? Lux Vera Iluminet, true light shines brightly. The light here changes all the time and is especially wonderful for artists and photographers.
