Thank you for taking the time to write your review but, oh dear, we feel we've let you down.
The view you had is that in the listing so we have no understanding of why you should have expected a different one. The view from the deck is across the loch to beautiful Liathach, one of Scotland's iconic Munros, and the mountain is considerably higher than any of the trees and bushes.
The listing says clearly that this bedroom is one of two in the cottage. Also that the cottage is available for exclusive rental for up to 4 people. You do acknowledge that your understanding of exclusive use of the cottage going with just a bedroom booking was your mistake, thank you. We don't know of any B&Bs in the area that would allow guests the use of the kitchen at all, much less exclusively.
We had considered locks on the bedroom doors but think that could convey a feeling of mistrust in fellow guests. "Why have they put locks on the bedroom doors? Have they had previous incidents requiring them?" We haven't, but will keep it in mind. Incidentally, your fellow travellers didn't mention at all in their reviews that they feared YOU would take any of THEIR belongings.
Apart from the view not being what you expected, your complaints are all based on the fact you had to share common spaces with other guests on 3 of your 5 nights (you did have the cottage exclusively for 2 nights for the price of just a bedroom). Perhaps you should have considered renting a self-catering cottage, especially when travelling with a dog, for your exclusive use if not sharing common parts with other guests was such a high priority. Airbnb does allow guests to make enquiries before booking; you didn't do that.
Thank you for commenting that the bed was very comfortable, and that the house was well-equipped. We try really hard to ensure our guests have a comfortable stay in Highland Torridon, and most are highly appreciative.
