There are scenic overlooks on the drive into town. I also recommend driving up Quill Hill (check their website (URL HIDDEN) for hours but they are usually open all summer) for the best sunset views. The $10 fee is well worth it. There are tables at the top so bring a picnic!
Oquossoc (10 minutes away)
Canada! You are only an hours drive from the border. Lac Megantic is the closest town (an hour and a half from the house) and has great swimming/ boating/ shopping/ restaurants/ hiking, etc. Great day trip! Quebec City is 3 ½ hours away which is a bit of a drive but still doable in a day if you’re in town for awhile!
Snowmobile trail .3 miles from rental with lake access.
Skiing 15 miles away at Saddleback Mountain.
The house is one lot off of the lake. It has a lake view but there is no lake access from the property. The lake can be accessed from numerous points. The closest is .5 miles down the road (at the bridge on Mingo Loop Road). Another popular location for access is in town (about a 10 minute drive) at the public dock/ beach.
