Fair View cottage was built in 1880 and retains the atmosphere of an old house with original sash windows and fireplaces. The cottage is not overlooked by any other houses and looks out over fields and apple orchards. We are delighted to share our pretty but rambling cottage garden with guests. The room is cosy, is flooded with warm sun in the afternoons and looks out over a paddock and orchard which is a delight to walk round.
The bedroom is spacious and bright with a large sash window that looks out over the fields and across to the hills into the distance. There are tea and coffee making facilities and a tin of biscuits or cake to welcome guests on arrival. The large bathroom is across a small landing at the top of the stairs. It has a large slipper bath, porcelain sink, simple shower and is full of large house plants. This room looks out onto the cottage garden at the back of the house.
The kitchen is in constant use so we cannot offer this as a space to be used by guests. We do however offer a simple 2 course supper at £10 per head available on request that can be eaten in the kitchen with us.
There is parking on the quiet lane outside the house.

I have lived in the village of Over Stratton for 22 years and I never get tired of the countryside around me. My garden and the nearby orchards are a constant joy. To watch the seasons pass year by year brings me real pleasure. I love to welcome guests from all walks of life and to share with them this beautiful corner of rural Somerset.
