Within 8 miles are the market towns of Leyburn, Bedale, Richmond and Masham - all with local produce shops, cafes and high class restaurants.
There are castles at Richmond, Bolton and Middleham, historic sites at Jervaulx and Fountains Abbey, many beautiful country houses with extensive gardens and an arboretum at Thorpe Perrow.

Perhaps take an hour's ride to York, the spa town of Harrogate or the coast at Whitby and the North Yorkshire Moors.
