Truly one of a kind experience. Surround yourself with beautiful redwood valley views, yet minutes to vineyards, the coast and all that the spectacular Anderson Valley has to offer.
The Hexagon is hand crafted from a felled redwood tree on the property, designed with an organic modernist aesthetic & meticulously developed into the perfect guest retreat. Signature to this guest cabin is the outdoor bathroom, inspired by the owner's safari in Africa. The Hexagon is powered by solar energy.
No detail has been overlooked in The Hexagon. It has been designed so that you feel like you are floating in nature, even when you are inside, fireside and cozy. Four of the six sides of this structure have windows, so wherever you look you see views and nature. As you relax in bed, read on the leather armchair, enjoy an outdoor shower or soak in the two person exterior tub, you may see deer, wild turkey, rabbit, quail, hawk, eagle, chickadee and more.
The Hexagon feels remarkably roomy because of its vaulted ceiling and plentiful light. It is cozy because of its working fireplace, defined by a gorgeous Heath Ceramics tiled hearth. The building is sited to be nestled into a grove of madrone trees for privacy, yet have unobstructed views of the valley below.
The defining feature of The Hexagon is the exterior bathroom, which was inspired by the owner's remote safari in Africa. The bathroom is literally one with nature, with a madrone penetrating the privacy wall and providing support for the shower, as well as felled madrone branches serving as the railing spindles of the deck.
The Hexagon is part of a larger property with other buildings that the owners have built out as a labor of love and an expression of their creativity over the last 15 years.
200 feet away is a converted Airstream trailer that is also available as an additional guest suite as well as a large deck with adirondack chairs that you are welcome to use.
The Hexagon has an outdoor kitchen, including propane bbq, 2 burner stove, kitchen sink, cooler and dining table. We provide a few pots and pans, a few basic cooking utensils, sharp knives, cutting board, bbq tools, plates and glasses. You will need to bring ice for the cooler, food, anything for cooking including spices, etc. Ice can be bought 3 miles away at the local convenience store in Navarro.
In addition, in your private exterior kitchen, you will find the exterior dining table and chairs, portable exterior lounge chairs, and a hammock.
It is the perfect spot to get away with a loved one, or alone. It is a great jumping off point for day trips or for the writer looking for a spot to feel inspired. We love it here and hope you do too!

Weitere wichtige Infos
The Hexagon is off the grid and is an escape from our technology world. This is a place for nature lovers, writers, romantics and dreamers. It is a truly unique spot, but intentionally, technology is absent. We provide a bluetooth speaker for music--however there is no wifi. Verizon and Sprint provide decent cell service, but other carriers are spotty. We have a guest cell phone if your phone isn't providing service in case you need to make calls.
The Hexagon is powered by solar and propane. Though you are off grid, you will have regular lights, thermostat controlled heat and and a flushable toilet. Think of yourself on a land yacht for your stay! Please note that as this is off-grid, there is no TV, fan, hair dryer or air conditioning.
As hosts, we provide drinking water that has to be delivered, sheets and towels that have to be laundered off-site, firewood that has to be cut and stacked, electricity that has to be battery stored, water that has to be pumped, and we drive away all the trash. What this means is that the cleaning fee is high. We work very hard to enable your stay and take pride in how we do it. We certainly hope you enjoy all that we and our natural environment can provide.
Mendocino County imposes an 11% occupancy tax. This charge will be sent to you after your initial booking.
While pets are welcome, there is an additional fee of $10 per pet per day.
