Welcome to our wonderful sunny house at the top of the quiet hilltop stone-built village of Saint Ferriol, founded in the 12th century. The house, Maison Acacia, is south facing, looking upon the Village Chateau. The house has recently been thoroughly renovated to a high standard whilst retaining the character and softness of the building's rustic origins, such as exposed beams, window fastenings, large quarry floor tiles and canal-tile roof. The walls are rendered with natural lime plaster. Even the insulation is natural hemp. While retaining many period features, the accommodation is luxurious and offers modern conveniences. Recent refurbishment has used top quality natural materials making use of the local chestnut wood, recycled oak and also cedar.
This single room is one of three bedrooms on the upper floor. This lovely room has 1 single bed, a sofa bed, a table, and reading lights. It is about 9,24 meters square in size and comfortably suites a solo traveler or two travelers wanting to explore the beautiful area.
There is a beautiful shared bathroom with tub and shower across the hallway and a half bath located on ground floor in the lobby. There is also access to a washer on the ground floor and a clothesline located on the chateau grounds opposite the house. Bed linen and towels can easily be provided for you at a small charge of 10 Euros per room. If you wish to provide your own linen then no charge is applicable.
The kitchen is fully equipped including extractor fan, granite kitchen, oven, stove, blender , microwave, and other amenities. It is also a delicious room in which to sit quietly and listen to the sheep, chickens and other sounds of the countryside - such as the church bells which ring twice on the hour in line with local custom.
Parking is opposite the house on the pebbles between the trees.
There are books and games for entertainment located in the house. Beautiful views and thousands of kilometres of hiking through the countryside from the village streets.

We live next to the house in the Chateau, which we are renovating, and usually available ourselves, but we always leave a contact in the village in case needed. We enjoy helping our guests to get the most out of visiting our stunning and interesting region. We speak fluent English and French and have lived in the village since 1997. We have a rich knowledge and history of this area.
The house is like a glostal, where you will meet people also interested in the region and French. It is not ideal for all families who want privacy unless they reserve the whole house, which can be done by arrangement only. The house may be lodging other holiday makers or friends and volunteers, who have been asked to keep the space immaculate. Other guests who know the house well may also be able to answer any questions that you have. We do have equipment for babies and toys for children if needed.
Further facilities can be provided on request.

Welcome to our friendly south-facing three bedroomed village house. We are Sophie and James. We have made this house a comfortable home away from home for our friends, family, Airbnb guests, and volunteers from all over the world who come to help us with various aspects of the chateau renovation that we have been engaged in since 1997. We live just across the road. There is an outside seating area and guests are encouraged to enjoy the chateau Gardens.
The house is quite busy in summer and less busy in the winter. Sometimes you may have the house to yourself even though you have only rented one room.
The village is beautiful and sleepy. The village is surrounded by footpaths leading off on beautiful walks. We fell in love with it. You probably will too. The area is a cornucopia of good food, wine, natural and historic treasures. In the summer there is a restaurant walking distance in the woods. The village is small with about 100 people.
The Maison Acacias is a shared house, where visitors have the sanctuary of their own rooms and shared facilities, including kitchen, living room, and bathrooms. As a shared house, consideration must be shown for other guests regarding clearing away and noise. The whole property can be reserved by arrangement.
It is a fun place to meet other people who love the region. Taking just a room is not guaranteed ideal for families who want privacy although there is the possibility that you will have the house to yourself.
We require good notice of arrival and departure times. Guests must respect other guests and voices kept soft in the outdoor seating area in the evenings as well as in the shared common spaces when there are other guests.
Smoking is not allowed inside. Guests can smoke outside or in the outside sitting areas. Please dispose of cigarettes in the bins.
**We provide linen on request for 10 euros per person per bed per stay. You are welcome to bring your own linen of course, no charge. Please remove used linens and leave in a pile and leave unused linens folded.
