Couldn't have asked for more! One of the best trips with the family. The house is exactly what you would want to stay at if you were on the side of a mountain. State park less than a half mile away.

This place is awesome! It was comfortable, well stocked, and close to hiking, beautiful waterfalls, and shopping. It offers the feel of solitude, yet convenient to many attractions. Jon is a pleasure to work with and was available to answer any questions that we had. We would highly recommend this cabin.

Great location very near Black Rock Mountain State Park and Clayton. Easy to get to from off US 23. This rustic cabin is older (like nearly all cabins on this particular mountain), but has a nicely updated full bath (and an older half bath). Kitchen is older but was serviceable for our needs, including a compact microwave and usual kitchen gadgets, pots, pans, etc. There is a dishwasher, too. The cabin has a fun bear-theme to it -- and fitting, too, as we did spot two black bears on this mountain during the week we stayed (not to worry, black bears run away from humans). It lacks a fireplace but has a wood-burning stove in the living area (which we never actually used!). The common area has a vaulted ceiling giving the cabin an airy feel, and it's got lots of windows (but the roof overhang partially obstructs the view of the surrounding treetops). I wished the indoor lighting was brighter at night (I like brightly-lit interiors). The ceramic tile in the living area was very cool, even in July, so I just wore socks while indoors. Like many mountain cabins, the gravel driveway is rather steep with large trees on both sides, so we often parked near the end of the drive to make it easier to back-out. You'll climb stairs to the front door of the cabin. Watch your head if your 6' or taller when you start up the steps from the carport. With daily rain showers, it was hard to remove the dampness and a funky, musty smell inside the cabin. We used a borrowed, portable dehumidifier and that helped with the dampness. Even still, my eldest son, who struggles with asthma and allergies, had some difficulty with the indoor air quality. The beds in the two small bedrooms have plush, pillow-top mattresses. If you like stiffer, firmer mattresses, be aware these are not stiff or firm. The loft has two single beds (one a trundle bed). Be aware these two beds in the loft don't offer any privacy and are subject to the sounds of the common area below. The bedroom carpets are well-worn and stained. There is a compact washer-dryer combo in the half-bath. This is a pet-friendly accommodation. Our cabin was nicely cleaned prior to our arrival and there were no pet odors from prior, pet-owning guests. Overall, this was a good accommodation for a pet-loving family in a great, northern Georgia location.

This place was amazing! We enjoyed being so secluded but still close to town. We fished at Black Rock Mountain Lake which was right down the road. We had a cookout and enjoyed having our pup come along. The cabin was perfect and comfortable. It was wonderful for a quick weekend away and had everything we needed!

Jon has a great cabin! It is perfectly nestled in the wood for seclusion, but still has easy access. The only thing I would recommend is notifying trackers that the gps is wrong when taking you to Moses Rd, but it is easy to figure it out.

The picture do NOT do the cabin JUSTICE! Perfect quaint home. My family had a WONDERFUL stay! Love the open concept. Secluded perfectly in the woods, but close to Black Rock State Park and to the towns of Clayton and Dillard! Must visit!

We just spent a week in the Treetops this mid-May. My mother, my wife, my 2 small children, and myself. The location is excellent if you want privacy and quiet, but also in a good location if you want to take day trips. JWe went to Helen... Twice actually. Found a good swimming beach at Lake Rabun. There are wineries nearby. We could have stayed for another couple weeks, but alas. Also, the house itself is beautiful. Large, open space for living, cooking, and dining. 2 bathrooms is super convenient. Comfy beds. Large deck, and we used the grill 3 or 4 times. We will certainly be recommending to others. One tip - Garmin navigation tried in earnest to get us hopelessly lost on those mountain roads. (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) Maps is your friend. Cheers!! - The Hendrickson family (Rochester, Minnesota)

I'm an easy going adventurist who is always looking for a place to get away. Most of my vacations involve some sort of excitement or activity, such as scuba diving, spear fishing, snow boarding, or hiking. But my cabin is where I go to recharge. I enjoy writing short stories and enjoying great food complimented by craft beers.
