Nearby there are the characteristic villages of Zuccarello and Castelvecchio di Rocca Barbena (ranked among the most beautiful villages in Italy). For the climbing lovers, the crag of Castelbianco is 13 km away.

L'intera struttura, di cui la baita ne é una porzione, risale ai primi dell'800 ed ospitava i minatori che lavoravano nelle vicine miniere aurifere.
