This classic Meiselman is a gorgeous mid-century Palm Springs home called “Desert Day Modern.” It was included on the 2017 & 2018 Palm Springs Modernism Week Home Tour. Desert Day Modern is about style, comfort, amenities, and relaxing in the sunshine. Conveniently located in the historic Sunmor neighborhood — central to all of Palm Springs’ hot spots. THE LIVING SPACES Professionally designed by the team at H3K, the interiors have been styled in classic gray tones with optimistic splashes of color. The open concept floor plan is perfect for spending time with your entire group. The modern kitchen has a gas stove, microwave, beautiful counter tops and has been fully stocked with everything you’ll need to prepare anything from a simple breakfast to the most ambitious gourmet dinners. The kitchen is open to the interior dining space and handy to the outdoor dining space. The adjacent living area has a large sectional sofa and a large flat screen TV. Already set-up for cable TV, Apple TV (so you can stream your own accounts like Netflix) and Roku– perfect for binge watching your favorite TV shows and must see sporting games. There is a Sonos soundbar. Download the Sonos app to access Spotify. And don’t forget to prepare a cocktail – Mad Men style - from the bar cabinet. The living space also features exclusive vintage prints of Palm Springs icons – Bob Hope, Frank Sinatra and Marilyn Monroe – all taken from the Palm Springs airport tarmac. Oh, and the retro telephone is fully functional. OUTDOOR LIVING AREAS The outdoor living space, sun-drenched pool yard and the panoramic mountain views are simply spectacular. This property is walled for privacy, beautifully desert-scaped and designed for having fun at any time of the day. Enjoy a dip in the heated, retro shaped pool; relax in the integrated spa; chillout, read a book or catch some rays by the poolside chaise lounges and shade umbrellas; and watch the stars from the fire pit as the desert day winds down. The alfresco dining area for six is the perfect place for BBQ lunches and dinners. The outdoor living room provides cool shade from the sun with ceiling fans for extra cooling. There is a huge manicured lawn for all of your outdoor fun. On site citrus trees bear seasonal grapefruit, lemons and oranges for the juicer. You can also find private outdoor space in the James Tyrell inspired “skyscape” accessible from the kitchen and master bedroom. SLEEPING QUARTERS Like a hip boutique hotel, each bedroom has been uniquely designed to capture Palm Springs’ mid-century chic. All of the bedrooms feature comfortable hotel-quality mattresses, ceiling fans, ample storage and flat screen televisions. The master bedroom offers a king-sized bed, an ensuite bathroom, and its own access to the skyscape courtyard. The second guest bedroom – the “LAX room” - features a king-sized bed and both guests rooms have direct access to the outdoor areas. The two guest rooms share easy access to the hall bath. Nestled in the Sunmor neighborhood, the house is a quick 5 minutes to both the airport and Palm Springs' strip. Explore the boutique shops and delicious restaurants in the area, go for a scenic hike, and visit the art museum. Pool heating is available for an additional $50 per night. The fee will be collected via the Airbnb Resolution Center if you wish to have pool heating. Additionally a $250 pet cleaning fee will be applied for any pet. However all pet requests need to be made in advance of your stay and approved by the host. Nestled in the Sunmor neighborhood, the house is a quick 5 minutes to both the airport and Palm Springs' strip.
