Künstlerische Keramik in Atlanta
We require hand washing upon entry, and require masks if you are in a vulnerable risk group. We'll introduce ourselves and we will give you a tour of our professional studio and kiln area to have an insider's view of how pottery is made and tour our gallery. Your instructor is an Atlanta ceramic artist, our studio is an incubator for those launching careers as artists selling their work. We'll have a short demonstration then an artist will guide you to make pots of your own. You will make 2-3 pots over the course of the next hour+ then you will get to select your own glaze colors for us to finish and fire your work. Unlike other experiences - there are no extra fees for extra pots! Great for groups or couples. Since pottery takes several weeks to dry, then proceeds with two firings - pottery that you make during your event will be ready in about 6 weeks. Local pick-up is free. We can give an estimate for US shipping rates while you are here, international deliveries will require more exacting details for shipping rates and will require a follow-up email and/or invoice. Average US shipping is between $15 and $20. Your instructor will be in touch when your pottery is complete. This experience is kid-friendly for ages 8+ but we do ask that you are booking in the morning slot if you have kids. No bookings will be accepted for kids with no adults present. Thank you!
Farmbesuch und Ausritt in den Appalachen
Ride. Restore. (Re)connect. Picture yourself meandering through the idyllic, mountain-framed grounds of a historic 300-acre farm and forest located in the Blue Ridge Mountains. The property is cradled in a pastoral valley with wooded mountains and a bubbling creek, and is home to some of the most stunning flora and fauna in the Eastern US such as goldenseal and spring ephemerals like trillium, violet, and ramps. Our trails wind over hilly oak savannah and gradually climb through mature hardwood groves near the border of Pisgah National Forest. Discover the special relationship between trees and trout, identify wildflowers and other plants and animals, and immerse yourself in an outdoor adventure that will engage all five senses. The 90 minute horseback ride takes place on the Evans family farm in rural Barnardsville, NC. Lovingly referred to as “The Dairy,” the farm was in operation from the 1930s until 2008 and has a history almost as beguiling as the land it’s on. (To boot: it used to sell milk to the famous Biltmore Estate!) We will begin the trail ride by getting to know each other and our horses. After that, we will briefly explore the ins and outs of horseback riding. Whether you’re a seasoned rider or first-timer, a kid or a retiree, it doesn’t matter; anyone can do it. Then we’ll be off, gaining 200 feet of elevation and a lifetime of memories.

Appalachian Kitchen Witchery
Let's gather together as we journey into the past of Appalachian culture and healing, where many groups of people came together to create a unique community and practices out of a hard way of living that was resourceful, magical and full of faith. Granny witches and folk healers were born in those days, a legacy and tradition that continues to thrive in the mountains and valleys of Western North Carolina. Today they are brewing and cooking up healing remedies grown and foraged from the rich bounty of Southern Appalachia, where magic is always afoot and woven deeply into everyday life. We will create our own herbal medicines using plants in season, fashion protection talismans and bundles to protect what means most to us, talk about what magic and witch truly mean in this community, and how we can take a bit of Appalachia home with us. Join me for a magical morning of history, folklore and a touch of wild magic.

Entdecke die Töpferscheibe
We are excited to offer visitors an experience to get their hands in clay and work on a potters wheel. This hands-on pottery experience will introduce beginners to the magic of throwing clay on a potters wheel in a small intimate setting. Your teacher will patiently guide you along the way. NOTE: From start to finish the process for making a pot takes several days given the need to throw, dry, trim, bisque, glaze, and fire. It's because of the long process of completing a pot that WE ARE NOT ABLE TO OFFER PARTICIPANTS THE OPTION OF TAKING THEIR POTS HOME after just a couple hours in the studio. There will not be a finished pot to take home, pickup later or have shipped to you. You will have a great time experiencing what it’s like throwing clay on the potters wheel! Upon arrival we'll do a tour of the studio and explain the process of making a pot from beginning to end. You will see our wood kiln, and we'll explain how we fire. After the tour, we will roll up our sleeves and put on our aprons. You will be taught basic throwing skills through demonstrations on the potters wheel with step-by-step instructions. After a demonstration, guests will have the opportunity to try the potters wheel on their own and will be guided with techniques along the way. Aprons are supplied. Please wear comfortable clothing you won’t mind getting clay on and have long hair tied back.
