The Owl Nest sleeps up to 8 guests (6 adults and 2 kids). A 2nd level braai area seats 14 people around a 4m table. The house offers 3 bedrooms and 2 on-suite bathrooms. Note - the bathroom arrangement allow for occupation of not more than 2 couples/families. The well-equipped kitchen comes fitted with a dishwasher & 2x retro fridges. Coffee & tee is provided. Slow burning fireplace, electric blankets, heaters & camping cot. A tranquil setting on the edge of town - a true Karoo farm feeling.

With tiled floors throughout, we offer a very neat and comfortable 3 bedroom , 2 bathroom (1 bedroom en suite) self catering cottage available with off street parking. There is DSTV, Free WiFi, air conditioning, braai facilities and secure off street parking behind a remote controlled gate. Cottage is not rented out per room, which means complete privacy for our guests. It is perfectly positioned and within walking distance of all the major restaurants, shops and places of Interest.

Our cottage boasts a typical Karoo style open-plan kitchen, Dover stove, living room, en-suite bathroom with bath and shower, main bedroom with double bed, spare room with two single beds. Bethesda Tower B&B

A fairy-tale tower, ideal for a romantic couple or adventurous family. The unit is a duplex. The top floor's huge round bed has 360°views, and on the middle floor are twin beds / lounge. The bathroom is on the ground floor down external spiralling stairs. A unique experience! Our rate includes a delicious breakfast, which is served from our on-site Tower Café. Dinner is available on request, at the time of booking.

Playwright's House, Nieu-Bethesda

This unpretentious, rustic and secluded Karoo home is where internationally acclaimed playwright and writer Athol Fugard wrote between 1990 and 2017. It's on the peaceful northeastern corner of our quaint village. Crystal-clear Karoo air, intense night skies, crackling winter fires, tranquillity. The cottage draws travellers, explorers, friends & families seeking connection; and it's an inspiring creative space.

Charming Heritage Cottage

This historic townhouse is within easy walking distance of shops and restaurants. The private courtyard is ideal for a braai (barbecue), or a quiet coffee. The house is child-friendly, and pets are welcome too. A gun-safe is provided, ideal for hunters. The stove is gas, so cooking during load-shedding is never a problem! As with many Graaff-Reinet houses, there is ONLY ON-STREET PARKING. There is also no TV.

The Tradesman

The Tradesman Shop is a quirky and historic unit with a beautiful courtyard and braai area. It is the last Tradesman shop that is still connected to the main house and dates from the 1850’s. It’s still has the original “brakdakkie”-ceiling so don’t get a fright when a piece of historic dust comes loose from the ceiling. The large courtyard at the back is a treat. Please note the unit operates on a gas geyser.
